The Sr. Manager - Product Management is accountable for the full lifecycle of products in the Angle of Attack Sensors and Stall Protection products portfolio.  You will be accountable for projects and initiatives that include pursuit and capture, design and development, on-time delivery, service/support, and long-term strategic business plans for your products.  The product manager drives strategic planning efforts, is the lead function accountable for business success, and serves as the face of the organization to multiple clients and customers.  They are responsible for the successful execution of programs to meet strategic goals and maintain associated measures of success.  This leadership position reports directly to Ice, Rain and Stall Portfolio - Associate Director and is an active participant of the portfolio leadership team.

This is an onsite role based at our Burnsville, MN facility.

What You Will Do

  • Lead several cross-functional Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) that regularly manage new products/services with new market capabilities and offerings.
  • Communicate regularly and frequently with internal and external customers and other stakeholders on a variety of topics pertinent to the product line, including strategic and tactical initiatives.
  • Manage the IPT to drive supply chain resilience and achieve output and delivery assurance targets.
  • Implement functional strategy and establish operational plans for the work area.
  • Manage large risks with meaningful financial and schedule impacts and strategic implications for the portfolio.
  • Maximize customer satisfaction given your large influence on product and project execution.
  • Influence and negotiate elements of key business opportunities.

  • Develop a deep appreciation for the full product lifecycle and gain exposure to all the functional areas involved, e.g., R&D, design, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, operations, field support.
  • Increase exposure with senior executive leadership as the primary leader for your product portfolio.
  • Gain knowledge on industry-leading angle of attack and stall protection technologies and capabilities.
  • Increase your exposure with aerospace customers across commercial, business, and military market segments.


Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and a minimum 10 years relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large project or development teams with diverse skill sets and interdependencies between functional groups.
  • The ability to distill complex ideas into simple elements and to communicate them both up and down the organization chain.
  • Pertinent experience in some or all aspects of the product life cycle that you, as a Snr. Manager - Product Management, can bring to the table and leverage to lead the team and the technology. 
  • Business acumen to devise investment strategies, evaluate opportunities, and establish business priority.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience managing technical projects, including schedule and Earned Value Management, risk management, customer interaction, and briefing executive leadership.
  • Experience in a regulated environment and familiarity with aerospace certification standards (e.g. TSO, MIL-STD, DO-160, DO-254, DO-178B/C, DO-297)
  • Engineering experience in design, manufacturing, quality, reliability, or aerospace.
  • Operations management experience, on-time-delivery, process control/improvement, manufacturing yield and throughput improvements.
  • Experience in business capture, strategy, and sales.
  • Supply chain management; sales, inventory & operations planning (SIOP); demand and material management.
  • Experience in root cause corrective action (RCCA) analysis. 
  • You will be part of an energetic team that is driven to succeed.
  • Occasional travel < 10%

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
