GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Human Resources Clerk provides part-time administrative support to the Human Resources department, assisting with recruitment, personnel file compliance, onboarding, and general HR recordkeeping. This is an entry-level position; prior Human Resources experience is preferred but not required. The role requires strong organizational skills, strong people skills, the ability to multi-task, and close attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding Support
- Assist with recruitment tasks including posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
- Coordinate and assist with new hire orientation.
- Verify I-9 documentation and maintain accurate records.
- Input new hire employee information into the HRIS and maintain data integrity.
- Scan and upload new hire documents into SharePoint and appropriate center files.
Personnel File & Compliance Support
- Assist with compliance in all aspects of the hiring process, including background screenings, physical/TB testing, drug testing, and MVR clearance.
- Ensure compliance of employee files with regulatory requirements, including Georgia DECAL criminal records clearance.
- Maintain accurate personnel documentation and assist with audits or monitoring visits.
Benefits & Wellness Support
- Assist with benefits-related questions during new hire onboarding.
- Assist Benefits Coordinators with Open Enrollment as needed.
- Assist with Health & Wellness Fairs and other benefits-related projects.
General HR Administrative Support
- Process employment verification and salary information requests.
- Respond to employee inquiries and provide general administrative support.
- Assist with ECS4Kids recognition programs, staff training, and employee appreciation events.
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, copying, and document preparation.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- This is an entry-level position; prior Human Resources experience is preferred but not required.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong people skills and ability to build positive relationships with staff.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
CERTIFICATIONS:
- Complete TB screening & physical before having direct contact with children. Renew every 2 years.
- Complete 15 hours of annual professional development training,
- Valid driver’s license
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Primarily office-based setting.
- Occasional local travel to program sites as needed.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:
- Prolonged sitting, bending, stooping, and stretching.
- Normal range of hearing and vision.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
