$21.85 - $32.80MIH - EMT Support
The MIH-EMT Runner and Support position provides critical operational and logistical support to the Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) team. This role is essential to maintaining efficiency across daily operations and ensuring continuity of patient care.
Responsibilities include a variety of tasks, which may involve direct patient interaction such as transporting patients to their homes or returning them to healthcare facilities. The role requires frequent driving and coordination across multiple locations, including resupplying MIH bases and rendezvousing with field paramedics to transport medications, meals, laboratory specimens, or other time-sensitive items back to the hospital.
This position also works closely with the AirCare logistics team to support fleet readiness and maintain vehicle availability.
The ideal candidate is self-directed, detail-oriented, and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities throughout the day. Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as operational needs may shift dynamically on a daily or weekly basis.
Education, Experience and Certifications
- High school graduate or GED required.
- Current applicable state EMT certification required.
- SC EMT-B and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician certifications preferred at time of hire; SC EMT-B and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician required within 90 days of hire and required to be maintained throughout employment.
- BCLS required.
- Approved trauma certification required within 6 months of employment and required to be maintained throughout employment.
- Current driver's license (prefer applicable state/SC) with no more than 6 points on license required.
- Must have had driver's license for a minimum of 2 years
- Advocate Health approved driving course to be completed within the first week of hire and maintained throughout employment required.
- One-year active field pre-hospital experience preferred.
- Annual completion of safety briefings and annual survival training required.
- Must have a valid driver's license and qualify as insurable by Advocate Health insurance carrier requirements for driving MedCenter Air vehicles.
- Must have an operational smartphone for use as communication device related to MedCenter air operations.
