Financial Analyst, Inventory Accounting

Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst, you will perform analyses and reporting for an assigned financial area while supporting financial research projects and business operations analysis. You will apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, assist with period-end close activities, prepare journal entries, maintain accounting schedules, and support accurate financial reporting. This role is ideal for an early-career accounting or finance professional who enjoys problem solving, collaboration, and continuous process improvement.

A Taste of Your Responsibilities

• Provide support for internal and external financial statements in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other regulatory requirements.
• Participate in period-end close activities to ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities, including identifying and resolving unusual items and issues accurately.
• Create and maintain monthly accounting schedules supporting balance sheet account reconciliations and financial audits.
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve outstanding reconciliation items.
• Perform general accounting activities within the SAP general ledger, including preparing and uploading journal entries.
• Utilize the Cadency tool to support accounting processes.
• Distribute routine financial accounting reports to internal stakeholders.
• Participate in special projects involving general accounting activities, including mergers and acquisitions, Financial Accounting Standards Board updates, business partner requests, and system conversions.
• Respond to information requests from internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner.
• Communicate financial information that impacts internal and external customers.
• Exercise judgment in financial, operational, and transactional analysis to identify and help resolve issues.
• Support the evaluation of processes, procedures, and controls and recommend improvements where appropriate.
• Document processes and maintain desk procedures while identifying opportunities for greater efficiency.
• Alert management to situations that may materially impact the company's financial condition.
• Perform accounting related activities for assigned areas, which include inventory and period-end close tasks for US and International locations

Ingredients Required for Your Success

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 1 to 3 years of professional experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or related financial disciplines.
• Experience researching and reconciling multiple accounts with minimal supervision.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with SAP preferred.
• Experience with Power BI and Microsoft Copilot or other AI tools is a plus.
• Demonstrated analytical, time management, interpersonal, change management, and communication skills.
• Comfortable working in an environment with ambiguity, change, and evolving business priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Compensation 

Pay Range:$64,000-$95,000

The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
