Accenture Federal Services is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team and support our client at Hill Air Force Base. This role leads cloud infrastructure design and delivery for mission workloads across multi-classification environments.
As a senior individual contributor, you’ll set engineering direction for infrastructure-as-code, mentor mid-level and junior engineers, and own complex infrastructure challenges.
Success in This Role Means:
- Delivering new infrastructure as reusable, version controlled Terraform or CloudFormation modules within 90 days
- Being the trusted technical authority for architecture and design questions
- Integrating STIG compliance and security hardening into deployment pipelines by default
- Driving root-cause investigation for Tier 3 incident response
- Ensuring cross-domain data flow and classification boundaries are correctly reflected in infrastructure design
What you’ll do:
- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure for mission-critical government workloads across IL2-IL6 environments
- Author and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) for consistent, auditable deployments
- Architect compute, storage, and networking solutions meeting mission performance and classification constraints
- Lead technical design from requirements gathering through implementation and handoff
- Implement and maintain security controls, STIG compliance, and vulnerability remediation
- Partner with Security Engineers and ISSOs on RMF documentation and ATO support
- Manage identity, access, networking, and security controls per least-privilege principles
- Mentor mid-level and junior engineers on design, troubleshooting, and secure practices
- Review infrastructure-as-code changes, provide technical feedback
- Drive resolution of complex Tier 3 incidents and document root-cause findings
- Operate within Agile frameworks (sprints, standups, retrospectives)
- Identify and resolve infrastructure gaps and automation opportunities proactively
- Document infrastructure decisions, runbooks, and operational procedures
What you’ll need:
- 5 years of cloud engineering/infrastructure experience
- 2 years in classified or highly regulated government environments
- Cloud platform experience (e.g: AWS, Azure, or multi-cloud); AWS GovCloud strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g.: Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
- Experience with containerization/orchestration (e.g.: Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
Bonus Points if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (certifications may substitute)
- Experience owning infrastructure design decisions
- Experience with identity/access management, networking, and cloud security controls
- Experience mentoring or leading junior engineers
- CI/CD pipeline design and DevSecOps practices
- Familiarity with multi-classification or cross-domain infrastructure
- AWS/Azure certifications (Solutions Architect or above), CompTIA Security+, Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD)
Clearance:
- Need an active Secret clearance; Top Secret preferred

As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. $106,300—$206,200 USD
