Summary: This position is responsible for directing, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of plant production to maximize both short- and long-term profitability for the company. The role serves as acting Plant Manager in their absence and plays a key part in driving operational excellence, food safety, and employee engagement.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with team members to foster a culture of collaboration and high morale.
• Provide leadership to the production team, creating a safe work environment focused on quality, food safety, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee day-to-day production activities, ensuring goals and objectives are met through effective planning, scheduling, and execution.
• Communicate priorities, timelines, and expectations clearly to team members and ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with all internal and external food safety and quality standards, including state and federal regulations.
• Promote a positive relationship with the local community through engagement and support of local programs.
• Support team development through coaching, training, and conducting monthly safety meetings and team discussions.
• Analyze and report on operational metrics and quarterly figures to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
• Address employee concerns, grievances, and lead problem-solving efforts as needed.
• Serve as backup Plant Manager when required.

 

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

• 10+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Must have a strong understanding of production processes, quality, maintenance, shipping/receiving, sanitation, HR, accounting, and safety.
• Food manufacturing experience highly preferred.

Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other standard business applications.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Special Skills:

• Strong leadership, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
• Must be flexible to work off-hours in a 3-shift, 6–7 day/week operation.

Travel: 0–15%.

Internal disqualifiers are the following:

• Must not have 4 or more attendance points for locations on an 8 point policy (on application date)
• No written warning in the past six (6) months
• No suspension on record for the last 12 months

This position is slated for candidates who are currently working at this facility. Priority consideration will be provided to these applicants first. If local Team Members are not selected, Team Members from other locations will then be reviewed for consideration.
