Hospitality Aide – Part-Time

Pay Range: $17.50–$18.00 per hour, based on experience

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and service-oriented Part-Time Hospitality Aide to support our Nursing Department and help create a safe, welcoming environment for our residents.

This is a non-certified support position and does not include clinical care, medication administration, feeding residents, or other duties requiring CNA or nursing credentials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Answer call lights promptly and communicate residents’ needs to the CNA or licensed nurse.
• Report resident concerns, changes in condition, accidents, incidents, or safety issues immediately to the Charge Nurse or Nurse Supervisor.
• Transport residents safely to and from meals, activities, appointments within the facility, and outdoor areas.
• Answer telephones, run approved errands, make copies, file documents, and assist with basic nursing-station tasks.
• Straighten resident rooms, closets, and drawers while ensuring personal belongings are properly labeled and stored.
• Pass clean linens, make unoccupied beds, and place additional covers on beds as requested.
• Distribute meal trays, snacks, and beverages; open cartons, refill drinks, and cut food when needed. Hospitality Aides do not feed residents.
• Keep residents’ water pitchers clean, filled, and within reach.
• Clean and disinfect wheelchairs, walkers, bedside tables, overbed tables, and other approved equipment.
• Stock resident rooms and common areas with briefs, linens, and other supplies.
• Maintain clean and orderly resident rooms, utility rooms, showers, bathrooms, day rooms, and other assigned areas.
• Prepare resident rooms for new admissions and greet and escort residents to their rooms.
• Assist with inventorying, labeling, storing, and packing residents’ personal belongings.
• Create an atmosphere of warmth, dignity, respect, and personal attention.
• Maintain resident privacy and the confidentiality of all resident information.
• Report resident grievances, suspected abuse, missing property, or other concerns immediately.
• Follow infection-control practices, handwashing requirements, safety procedures, and bloodborne-pathogen precautions.
• Attend required orientation, educational programs, and safety training.
• Use only equipment for which proper training has been completed.
• Report defective equipment, hazardous conditions, spills, and supply needs promptly.
• Perform additional non-clinical support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum eighth-grade education required; high school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in healthcare, hospitality, housekeeping, or customer service is helpful but not required.
• Compassionate and respectful attitude toward residents and their families.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills preferred.
• Dependable attendance and the ability to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently.

Physical Requirements

The position regularly requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching, speaking, hearing, and reading. The employee must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds and safely assist with transporting residents in wheelchairs.
