More about the role


We’re looking for an EHS Manager to join our team, onsite in Tijuana, Mexico.

As a EHS Manager, your role will be to ensure compliance with environment, health, and safety regulations and standards while maintaining operational integrity across all site operations and aligning with corporate requirements. Drives continuous improvement in environment, health, and safety performance by developing and implementing sustainable engineering and management solutions to address environmental challenges effectively.

What you’ll do

  • Drives the Signify Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) program by deploying company objectives and targets to their site operations in cooperation with corporate regional or global EHS managers, Heads of Operations and site leadership where relevant, and tracks and reports progress regularly to ensure alignment and effective execution of safety protocols.
  • Sets, contributes, and drives site-wide, regional, or global EHS strategies and initiatives, ensuring they are effectively integrated and aligned with overall corporate sustainability goals.
  • Manages one or more direct or indirect reports or consultants from manufacturing, distribution, and/or environmental liability projects, building and maintaining a network of site EHS professionals to support competency management, sharing of best practices, coaching, and training to enhance overall EHS culture.
  • Tracks EHS performance for their remit and contributes learnings and continuous improvement ideas for broader Signify EHS strategy to ensure ongoing enhancement of safety and environmental standards.
  • Assists operations with EHS due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and divestments to evaluate environmental risks and sustainability opportunities, and participates in new venture integration projects upon request by Business teams and managers to address must-do requirements pertaining to EHS.
  • Manages environmental liabilities from identification to regulatory closure, including consultant and contractor selection, provision calculations and updates, and accurate spend management while working closely with internal Signify customers such as Real Estate, Legal, Operations, and Procurement.
  • Participates in and contributes to the Signify-wide EHS maturity assessment program to evaluate and improve EHS management effectiveness across the company.
  • Owns or has shared ownership of and drives the Signify EHS Management System, consisting of policies, standards, and best practice guidance as part of ISO45001 and 14001, to manage risk, secure compliance, and ensure alignment with Signify standards and operational practices.
  • Keeps abreast of worldwide legislation, standards, and global best practices concerning EHS, provides interpretation and guidance to businesses or the wider corporation, and organizes benchmarking activities to promote continual learning and improvement.

More about you

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline, providing foundational knowledge essential for effective health and safety management.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in Health & Safety management within manufacturing or industrial environments, with a strong focus on conducting comprehensive incident investigations and ensuring rigorous compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental Management that validate expertise and commitment to maintaining high standards in health and safety practices.
  • English fluency is required
