Project Officer Apprentice

Salary Per Annum: £15,600

Location: Norwich, NR2 1TF

Swarm Recruitment is supporting Norwich BID in hiring a Level 4 Associate Project Manager Apprentice. This is an excellent opportunity to kickstart your marketing career and work closely with the team while gaining hands-on experience in project management.

The BID operates as a not-for-profit collective of local organisations working together to deliver the changes they want to see and to support the citys progress.

All activity and investment undertaken by the BID is carried out on behalf of local businesses to help the city thrive. The organisation delivers a wide programme of work including management of the citys official destination marketing body, VisitNorwich, as well as Norwichs talent-attraction and inward-investment brand, Work in Norwich.

 

Role Summary:

  1. To assist with all aspects of the planning and delivery of NBID projects, including Norwich Experience Weeks, Christmas Lights and B2B events
  2. To support other key projects including events, festivals, street entertainment, VisitNorwich and other initiatives.
  3. The apprentice will support the wider Norwich BID team in delivering the objectives of the BID Business Plan and creating positive outcomes for businesses, residents and visitors.
  4. To assist with stakeholder engagement, including communicating with businesses, partners, suppliers, and community organisations to support successful project delivery.
  5. To support project administration and coordination, including maintaining project plans, arranging meetings, preparing documentation, and tracking actions and deadlines.
  6. To support with project monitoring and reporting including compiling reports, data, and evidence required by stakeholders, funders, and partner organisations.
  7. Maintaining and updating our CRMs, such as ALERT and Vicinity, to support the organisation

Working Week:

The core working hours will be 37.5 hours per week, 9AM to 5PM, Monday to Friday, (Some flexibility can be given and is need for the role, with possible out of hours work i.e. events)

Office based ideally (but once again some flexibility is possible with 3 days in the office minimum)

 

Start Date: October 5th but Flexible

 

Essential Qualities:

  • 5 GCSE at grades 9-5 including Maths & English
  • A Levels, BTEC, NVQ or equivalent qualification
  • Interest in project management, events or placemaking
  • Experience of working in a team environment through work, education or volunteering
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team    
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload
  • Problem-solving and motivation to learn

Training Information:

Training will be with Swarm Training, a national provider of apprenticeships throughout the

UK. The successful candidate will work towards the Level 4 Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship. This apprenticeship will take around 18 months to complete with assessments. The apprentice is required to complete a minimum of 6 hours per week during working hours, working towards achieving the qualification. A tutor will conduct training sessions once a month, where the apprentice will be allocated tasks to be completed during working hours.
