About the Role:
Job Summary
Provides medically prescribed therapy within NGHS’ programs to help restore function; prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part; and help the patient to reach his/her maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of his/her capabilities. Provides care/service that meets the developmental needs of patients across the life span as appropriate to the patient population and as indicated on the skills checklist. Assists the Clinical Supervisors or Managers with duties as needed for the efficient operation of the rehab program and/or the Rehabilitation Institute. This position will care for patients in the adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups. Employee performs clinical duties in accordance with population specific guidelines and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined in policy and procedures.
Minimum Job Qualifications
Licensure or other certifications: Current license holder of the Georgia Board.
Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree. Graduate of an approved school for Physical, Occupational, or Speech and Language Therapy
Minimum Experience: Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years related practice experience with a Masters Degree or a minimum of four (4) to six (6) years related experience with a Bachelors Degree.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
Establishes a plan of care consistent with the medical findings and physician orders. Thoroughly evaluates, monitors, and reassesses all patients on a timely basis as evidenced by appropriate documentation.
Coordinates all patient care and demonstrates consistent clinical competencies.
Documents treatment procedures within the appropriate professional standards of practice and in compliance with department and third party payors guidelines.
Accomplishes good clinical outcomes (using national benchmarks and comparing to others in the same service area) and designs proactive discharge plans utilizing a team approach as demonstrated by cost management of patient stay and utilization for outside resources.
Consistently meets and exceeds department productivity standards (monthly average).
Actively assists other therapists in the department with achieving efficiencies and meeting productivity standards as evidenced by department meeting targeted standards and budgetary goals.
The employee has a direct positive effect on the organization’s efforts to improve customer service (i.e. offers to assist patients, families and visitors, maintains a positive demeanor, facilitates a positive perception of NGHS and The Rehabilitation Institute, etc.).
