Sterile Processing Technician - Surgical Services - Endoscopy - FT - Days - MHW

Summary:

Receives, cleans, sterilizes and stores surgical instruments and equipment.
** 5 days per week; 8a - 4:30p; weekends on call rotation **

** Experience with the cleaning, high level disinfection and reprocess of Colonoscopes, Endoscopes, Respiratory Scopes, difficult intubation scopes is preferred **

Responsibilities:

Performs and documents required quality assurance testing and inspections.Cleans, disinfects, decontaminates, and sterilizes surgical instruments and equipment using appropriate methods and substances.Properly disposes of bio-hazardous substances, chemicals, medical waste, and supplies.

Education and Certification Requirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communications skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: One (1) year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician preferred. Other Information: Successful completion of a recognized training program in Central Sterile Processing preferred.
