As a Compliance Assurance Manager on Remitly's Global Compliance Internal Testing (GCIT) team, you will manage compliance control testing engagements that support Remitly's ability to operate safely and responsibly across global markets. GCIT sits within Remitly's Global Audit & Assurance (GAA) organization and operates as an independent, second line of defense testing function. You will apply your expertise to assess controls across regulatory domains such as AML, sanctions, consumer protection, safeguarding, and regulatory reporting, and help ensure findings are clear, credible, and actionable.
This role requires strong organizational skills and direct people leadership, along with the ability to work closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Operations, Legal, Risk, and Internal Audit to deliver assurance testing that supports Remitly's compliance program.
You Will:
- Manage end-to-end assurance testing engagements within one or more compliance domains
- Directly manage, coach, and develop a team of analysts, including performance management and career development
- Design and execute test plans that assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls
- Identify, document, and validate control gaps and findings, partnering with process owners on remediation
- Apply and help refine the testing methodology and templates used across the team
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to scope testing and communicate results
- Present testing results and findings in internal review and compliance forums
You Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk, or related discipline—or equivalent practical experience
- 6+ years of experience in compliance assurance, internal audit, risk testing, or regulatory consulting in financial services or fintech
- Experience directly managing and developing team members, including performance feedback and coaching
- Working knowledge of regulatory domains such as AML/CTF, OFAC/sanctions, consumer protection, safeguarding, and transaction monitoring
- Experience managing testing engagements from planning through reporting
- Ability to identify and communicate control gaps clearly to stakeholders
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple engagements at once Based in Managua, Nicaragua or Mandaluyong City, Manila, with a hybrid on-site expectation of 3x/week
