Job Title: OB Director (RN)
Location: Hancock, MI (On-site)
Position Type: Full-Time (1.0 FTE / 80 hours per pay period) | Exempt
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8-Hour Day Shifts
Salary: $101,172.00 - $136,594.00
Reports To: Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
Incentive: $5,000 Sign-on Bonus available for qualified applicants
Position Overview
A leading hospital facility is seeking a compassionate, outcomes-driven Registered Nurse to serve as their OB Director. Leading a skilled team in a Level I Maternal Care and Nursery facility, you will oversee patient care, foster staff development, and ensure compliance with clinical standards. This role plays a vital part in driving high-quality, family-centered maternal and newborn outcomes for our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Oversight: Direct and coordinate obstetrical nursing care using the nursing process; resolve operational and clinical delivery issues.
- Quality & Compliance: Lead performance improvement (PI) initiatives and monitor department compliance with regulatory, legal, accreditation, and The Joint Commission standards.
- Staff Leadership: Oversee staff scheduling, educational and professional development programs, and annual performance evaluations.
- Resource & Mentorship: Serve as a clinical subject matter resource to nursing staff, multidisciplinary teams, and external contacts regarding patient flow, policies, and care standards.
- Patient & Family Education: Coordinate clinical and patient educational programs, specifically focusing on Labor and Delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license (or eligible to obtain).
- Experience: Hands-on clinical experience in Labor and Delivery.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- 4+ years of clinical Labor and Delivery experience.
- 2+ years of healthcare leadership or managerial experience.
- Current certifications (or willingness to obtain within 1 year):
- NRP: Neonatal Resuscitation Program
- AWHONN-EFM: Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses – Electronic Fetal Monitoring
- AWHONN-POEP: Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses – Perinatal Orientation and Education Program
- S.T.A.B.L.E.: Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, and Emotional support (Post-Resuscitation / Pre-Transport Stabilization Program)
