Pre-Sales Consultant – Network & Security
Job Summary
The Pre-Sales Consultant is responsible for providing technical consultancy and solution design for Network & Security solutions. This role partners closely with the Sales team, Product Managers, Vendors, and Customers to identify business and technical requirements, propose suitable solutions, conduct technical demonstrations and Proof of Concepts (POCs), and support the complete pre-sales lifecycle.
The ideal candidate should possess strong networking and cybersecurity knowledge, excellent presentation skills, and the ability to translate customer requirements into practical technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Solution Consulting
- Engage with customers to understand business and technical requirements.
- Recommend, design, and architect appropriate Network & Security solutions.
- Develop High-Level Designs (HLD), solution architectures, and technical documentation to ensure smooth project handover to the delivery team.
- Design and articulate the technical and business value proposition of proposed solutions.
- Prepare accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) and solution sizing.
Sales Support
- Actively participate throughout the pre-sales lifecycle.
- Support Account Managers in qualifying sales opportunities.
- Respond to customer technical enquiries and provide solution consultation.
- Prepare and respond to RFI, RFQ, and RFP documents.
- Attend tender briefings, clarification sessions, and technical discussions.
Customer Engagement
- Conduct customer presentations, technical workshops, seminars, and conferences.
- Deliver product demonstrations tailored to customer requirements.
- Lead technical evaluations, Proof of Concepts (POCs), and Proof of Value (POVs).
- Position the company’s solutions effectively against competitors.
Product & Technical Enablement
- Stay up to date with the latest networking and cybersecurity technologies.
- Conduct internal and partner technical enablement sessions.
- Provide product updates and technical coaching to sales teams and channel partners.
- Assist in developing technical standards, best practices, and deployment guidelines.
Solution Development
- Support solution validation and architecture reviews.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to develop competitive solutions.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Network & Security pre-sales, systems engineering, or solution consulting.
- Experience with enterprise networking and cybersecurity solutions is preferred.
- Experience in a distributor, system integrator, or vendor environment is an advantage.
