About The Opportunity

The Sanitation Lead directs daily cleaning operations, manages sanitation crews, and ensures compliance with food safety laws to prevent contamination.

Sanitation Lead Responsibilities:

• Enforce and ensure compliance with established food safety, sanitation, and hygiene policies and procedures.
• Inspect manufacturing equipment to ensure compliance with established sanitation, hygiene, and food safety standards.
• Manage and oversee cleaning and sanitation operations in the facility to ensure proper execution of sanitation activities
• Maintain the master sanitation schedule
• Train sanitation workers on an ongoing basis and document all training processes and procedures properly
• Monitor the mixing and use of chemicals to prevent misuse and hazards to personnel and property
• Coordinate and execute cleaning or area cleaning with team of sanitation and maintenance.
• Keeps detailed records of all sanitation-related activities and issues, such as inspections and violations, also noting how and when each situation was resolved
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of sanitation processes and practices, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide recommendations to the Quality Supervisor regarding necessary enhancements or modifications.
• Maintain audit readiness and ensure sanitation practices meet established SQF and customer requirements to support successful audit outcomes and passing scores.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Work Experience

Minimum of 2 years of related experience or training in warehouse or production sanitation

Additional Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
• Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed
• Ability to effectively work in teams
• Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
• Ability to lead / supervise groups of associates
• Understand quality standards, methods and reporting as required
• Good communicator, team player and multi-tasking skills
• Plan in advance for upcoming tasks in your area
• Interpret instructions both oral and written
• Produce at a high level through your staff
• Work with plant management for required results
• Process information and merchandise through computer system
• Prolonged standing, walking, bending climbing ladders, and lifting up to 30-50 pounds

The expected salary range for this position is $21.50/hour. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan and for a full benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; basic term life, AD&D, Short- and Long-term disability; EAP; 401(k) retirement savings plan; PTO and paid holidays.
