Description
Intro
Automotive OEMs and Tier 1/2 suppliers aren't tweaking their supply chains anymore: they're tearing them down and rebuilding. Tariffs, defense pivots, cost pressure that doesn't let up.
As (Senior) Key Account Manager, you're not managing accounts, you're the person automotive leaders call when the choice is protect the margin or lose it. You'll build that trust directly with our CEO and sales leadership, from day one.
What you'll actually do
You'll spend most of your time deepening relationships with existing enterprise accounts (expansion, new use cases, renewals), while opening a smaller number of new strategic accounts in automotive and adjacent supplier industries.
Your tasks
- Own a portfolio of existing automotive enterprise accounts, driving expansion and deepening our footprint
- Identify, develop, and close new strategic accounts in automotive and adjacent supplier industries
- Build multi-threaded relationships across sustainability, procurement, and operations stakeholders at large OEMs and Tier 1/2 suppliers
- Translate our platform into concrete value for automotive-specific challenges: supply chain redesign, cost reduction, margin protection
- Run a consultative, value-based sales process (MEDDIC or SPICED) rather than a feature-led pitch
- Partner closely with our Forward Deployed Engineers to ensure accounts are set up to renew and expand
- Be a thought partner on how outcome-based and AI-driven selling layers on top of traditional SaaS sales
Your profile
- 3+ years in enterprise SaaS sales or key account management, with a strong trajectory (quota overachievement, fast progression) weighted more heavily than years alone
- Experience selling into automotive OEMs or Tier 1/2 suppliers, and fluency in the transformation challenges the industry is facing
- Background from a PLM, enterprise software, or value-based SaaS environment, ideally with automotive or industrial manufacturing exposure
- Prior startup or high-growth company experience: you know what it's like to build process, not just execute it
- Proven quota attainment and a track record of growing existing accounts, not just closing new ones
- Fluent German and English
- Based in or willing to relocate to Munich: this role requires in-person presence (3 days x week) with the team and close collaboration with customer-facing colleagues.
