The Producer / Account Manager role is responsible for both generating new business and managing an existing book of personal and commercial lines clients for The Roark Insurance Agency. This individual identifies and develops new client relationships through proactive prospecting and networking, while also serving as the day-to-day point of contact for an assigned book of business - handling renewals, endorsements, coverage reviews, and service needs. Success in this role requires someone equally comfortable closing new accounts and nurturing long-term client relationships that drive retention and organic growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, referrals, centers of influence, and proactive prospecting within an assigned territory or niche.
- Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of prospects, tracking activity and opportunities through the agency management system.
- Review prospective clients' needs, exposures, and risk tolerance to recommend appropriate coverage solutions.
- Prepare and present new business proposals, coverage comparisons, and pricing options to prospects.
- Negotiate coverage terms and pricing with carriers and underwriters to win new accounts.
- Meet or exceed assigned new business production and growth goals.
Account Management & Client Service
- Manage a book of new and renewal business, maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with clients and carriers.
- Identify and proactively address coverage gaps, limitations, and evolving risk exposures within the assigned book.
- Respond to client coverage, billing, and policy inquiries thoroughly and in a timely manner.
- Accurately process endorsements, assessing how changes to one line of coverage may impact others.
- Prepare and present comprehensive annual renewal reviews and remarket accounts as needed to maintain competitive terms.
- Generate and issue Evidence of Insurance (EOIs) for mortgagees, lienholders, landlords, property managers, and other interested parties.
- Create and process Lost Policy Releases (LPRs) and other service documentation.
- Educate clients on loss prevention strategies and provide guidance before, during, and after a loss.
- Deliver exceptional, responsive client service to maintain a high client retention rate.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
- 2+ years of insurance experience in a sales, service, or account management capacity; prior new-business production experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of personal and/or commercial lines coverages, including:
- Home, Auto, Umbrella/Excess Liability
- Flood, Earthquake, Valuables, Watercraft (personal lines)
- General Liability, Property, Auto, Workers' Compensation (commercial lines, if applicable)
- Experience with an agency management system (e.g., Applied EPIC, AMS360) is a plus.
- High level of technical proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated success in both new business development and providing timely, high-quality customer service.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple competing priorities.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive client information with discretion and professionalism.
