Logistics Technician I

Responsibilities

OBXtek is seeking a Logistics Technician who is responsible for executing all aspects of logistics and inventory management for the organization. The Logistics Technician specializes in all tasks associated with logistical support to maintain accountability of property and assets domestically and overseas. The incumbent requires frequent and direct supervision and mentoring to navigate the established program policies and procedures.

 

Major Duties:

• Supports the annual inventory procedures and audit processes to ensure property accountability of all assets and consumables are accounted for in various reorder system e.g., Integrated Logistics Management System (ILMS) and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS);
• Maintains detailed accurate historical records for all property transactions to comply with inventory control procedures;
• Provides all aspects of storehouse/warehouse inventory management by monitoring daily inventory levels, receipt, storage, issue, replenishment ordering, property audits, bar coding, and property excess and transfers;
• Conducts asset lifecycle management from procurement to disposal; this includes cataloging and coordinating the disposal of surplus and excess property;
• Prepares training equipment and inventory stocks for overseas shipping to support in-service training program by inspecting and packaging pouches in accordance with state, local, federal, and international guidelines;
• Provides fleet management by preparing vehicle maintenance reports to ensure compliance with state and local requirements, asset management regulations, policies, and procedures;
• Safely operate U.S. Government vehicles and forklifts to facilitate the loading, unloading and transportation of materials and equipment.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills:

• Associate’s degree or equivalent technical training required. Years of experience may be substituted for formal education;
• Two (2) years of experience in logistical and inventory management disciplines;
• Basic knowledge level of inventory records and control, property management, government requirements and reporting requirements;
• Awareness of established inventory management and supply systems (e.g. Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Integrated Logistics Management System (ILMS);
• Awareness of Federal procurement regulations, policies and procedures;
• Awareness of military, and/or Government security operations, programs, plans and relationships;
• Excellent customer service experience in fast-paced collaborative team environment which required strong communication skills to frequently interact and work with people at all levels of the organization;
• Skill in organizing, managing and prioritizing multiple tasks;
• Skill in oral and written communication to prepare documents and coordinate work with others;
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record;
• Must be able to meet physical requirements (walking, standing, bending and lifting of medium to heavy objects).
