Req. ID:
JR111344 Advanced CMOS Device & Process Integration Engineer
Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
## <Senior Advanced CMOS Device & Process Integration Engineer>
Micron Technology is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Advanced CMOS Device & Process Integration Engineer. The successful candidate will combine strong engineering judgment with AI-assisted analytics (Claud Assist, Code Assist, etc.), coding, modeling, and knowledge-management tools to accelerate technology development and improve the quality and efficiency of technical decision-making. AI is expected to enhance, rather than replace, the engineer’s technical ownership, device expertise, and accountability. This position provides an opportunity to make significant technical contributions to current and future CMOS technologies for advanced memory products.
## <Position Overview>
As a Senior Advanced CMOS Device & Process Integration Engineer, you will own key device or process integration workstreams within advanced CMOS technology development. You will work closely with Process Engineering, Circuit Design, Layout, Product Engineering, Reliability, Manufacturing, Yield Enhancement, and Modeling/TCAD teams to define technical requirements, plan silicon experiments, resolve complex device issues, and transfer robust technologies into high-volume manufacturing. You will be expected to independently identify technical risks, develop data-driven solutions, and influence cross-functional engineering decisions.
## <Responsibilities>
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Own the development and optimization of selected CMOS devices, modules, or process integration workstreams.
- Translate product and circuit requirements into device, process, and electrical performance targets.
- Develop and execute silicon learning plans, design of experiments, and technology optimization strategies.
- Analyze complex electrical, physical, process, yield, and reliability data to identify root causes and improvement opportunities.
- Drive improvements in device performance, leakage, variability, reliability, process margin, yield, and cost.
- Lead transistor model validation and coordinate corrective actions with Modeling/TCAD, Circuit Design, and Process teams.
- Define electrical test structures, parametric test content, process control monitors, and technology characterization requirements.
- Evaluate design rule and process integration trade-offs in collaboration with Design, Layout, Process, and Manufacturing teams.
- Resolve complex device and process interactions using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Lead technical reviews and communicate recommendations, risks, and decisions to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Support technology transfer, qualification, ramp, and high-volume manufacturing activities.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on experiments, data analysis, and problem solving.
- Develop and deploy AI-assisted workflows for data mining, anomaly detection, experiment planning, code generation, document analysis, and engineering knowledge capture.
- Validate AI-generated analyses and recommendations using engineering fundamentals, silicon evidence, statistical methods, and independent technical judgment.
- Ensure responsible use of AI tools in accordance with company requirements for security, confidentiality, intellectual property, and technical validation.
- Contribute to CMOS technology roadmaps and identify opportunities for future device and process innovation.
## Minimum Qualifications
- MS in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field, with relevant industry experience.
- A BS with substantial semiconductor industry experience may also be considered.
- Sufficient understanding of CMOS transistor physics and semiconductor process integration.
- Experience in CMOS device development, process integration, electrical characterization, technology qualification, or high-volume manufacturing.
- Demonstrated ability to independently plan experiments, analyze silicon data, and solve complex technical problems.
- Experience with test structure design, parametric testing, device characterization, or process monitoring.
- Sufficient technical communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to influence decisions and collaborate effectively across diverse technical organizations.
## Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing FinFET devices or advanced CMOS technologies.
- Knowledge of Nanosheet, lateral GAA, vertical GAA, Forksheet, CFET, or other emerging transistor architectures.
- Experience with DRAM peripheral CMOS, memory array support circuits, or memory technology co-optimization.
- Experience with TCAD simulation, compact model validation, SPICE model application, or Design Technology Co-Optimization.
- Demonstrated experience improving performance, yield, process margin, reliability, or manufacturing cost.
- Experience creating automated data-analysis pipelines or AI-assisted engineering workflows.
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading cross-functional technical projects.
- Strong presentation skills for both technical and management audiences.
## Success Profile
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Independent ownership of complex technical problems.
- Sufficient device physics and process integration judgment.
- Ability to convert data into clear technical decisions.
- Effective cross-functional influence without requiring direct authority.
- Consistent delivery of measurable technology improvements.
- Ability to mentor developing engineers.
- Responsible, validated, and scalable application of AI-assisted engineering methods.
