The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense & Space (BDS) is seeking a motivated & associate Electrical M&PT Standards and Process Component Engineer located in Berkeley, MO.
Position Responsibilities:
Applies engineering knowledge of electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical components in evaluation of components for assembly and subassembly repair/design
Directly supports Sub-contractors and Suppliers to ensure their electronic components are qualified for Boeing usage per the contract
Work in a harsh / high reliability design environment, including previous aerospace, medical device, automotive, or industrial design/application experience
Knowledgeable of connectors, wires, and cables, including the fabrication of cables/bundles, installation of cables/harnesses, etc
Strong evidence of ability to work as part of a team and familiarity with the idea of working within a hierarchal organization as demonstrated by class projects or past experience.
Strong writing and communication skills in addition to a focus on attention to detail.
Understanding of the concept of requirements and requirements documentation.
Understanding the concept of qualifying parts, evaluating parts
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):(please see education and experience for the level below)
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
Experience, coursework or familiarity with basic electronic components (resistors, capacitors, diodes, inductors, transformers, connectors, integrated circuits, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
Prefer a Bachelors degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering
Component evaluation/design/qualification, experience with industry/military aerospace standards (SAE, Mil-specs, ASTMs, IEEE, especially in the area of Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS)
Past work experience with connectors, wires, and cable (i.e. electrical interconnect) wiring harnesses, any manufacturing experience
Specific experience with any sort of heightened requirement or harsh environment application space, including industrial, medical, automotive, and aerospace, and military
Specific experience with fiber optic interconnect or systems
Experience writing requirements or defining parameters of electrical systems/parts (similar to qualifying parts).
Experience with SSOWs or ensuring deliverables for customers
Specific experience with any type of electrical component fabrication
Specific experience with writing and reviewing requirements
Experience with component level design and part selection, including both “from scratch” designs and searching for alternate part substitutions within an established system/circuit.
Experience with testing and troubleshooting electrical systems and parts
Typical Education/Experience:
Level 2
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor’s Degree) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master’s Degree).
