Overview
We are currently seeking a Junior Environmental Engineer/Scientist (Air/Noise) to join our Atmospheric Services team. Our team specializes in in the atmospheric and acoustic solutions that safeguard both project compliance and community well-being.
This is a new position and is based out of any of the following Ontario offices; Downtown Toronto, North York, Oakville, Guelph, Kitchener or Windsor. We offer flexible work hours and hybrid work arrangement options to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.

Responsibilities
About the Position
Project Coordination and Technical Assessments
- Support with air dispersion modelling and Emission Summary and Dispersion Modelling (ESDM) reports
- Assist with acoustics, noise, and vibration modelling and technical assessments
- Contribute to air quality and acoustic impact assessments as part of federal, provincial or municipal environmental assessment projects and regulatory reporting programs
- Develop and implement environmental scopes of work and proposals
- Coordinate with laboratories, clients, subcontractors, third-party stakeholders
- Compile and analyze data, and assist in supporting environmental reports, including: data tables, field observation documentation, GIS/CAD, etc.
- Assist in report writing and preparation of technical memos, letters, reports, spreadsheets and figures
- Assist to project managers and other team members, including geoscientists, biologists, engineers, planners, and environmental scientists
- We empower our teams to automate the routine so they can focus on high-value, creative problem-solving. You will be encouraged to experiment with AI-enabled tools to push the boundaries of traditional design.
- Comply with applicable health and safety procedures and guidelines
- Ability to work remotely if required
- Travel to other Dillon offices as needed to support collaboration, share knowledge, and drive growth across the firm.

Qualifications
- A degree in environmental engineering, or another relevant environmental science/engineering discipline
- 0-3 years of experience, with experience in environmental consulting being an asset
- Strong work ethic with willingness to conduct field work
- Valid Driver’s License
Experience
- Knowledge in several of: air and noise modelling and monitoring, field procedures, basic chemistry, contracting/construction, site characterization, waste management, landfill design, health and safety will be considered an asset
- Experience working in industrial/manufacturing facilities and around heavy equipment, including drill rigs and excavators, will be considered an asset
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and organizational skills
- Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated abilities to work in multidisciplinary team and independently
- Knowledge of relevant provincial and federal environmental legislation and policies will be considered an asset
- Proficiency in AUTOCAD, GIS, Surfer or database abilities will be an asset
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office family of products
Compensation$50,000-$80,000At Dillon, we believe in transparency. The following salary range is what we expect to offer for this position. It will be dependent on the successful applicant’s education, experience, and skills, in addition to internal equity and geographic region. Dillon reserves the right to pay outside of the posted range, contingent on factors unrelated to an applicant’s gender or other status protected by provincial and/or federal law.
