  • Direct the development, review, and configuration control of Electrical Technical Data Packages, including schematics, cable/harness drawings, circuit-card documentation, IFC, as-built documentation, and interface models.

  • Perform and oversee advanced electrical analyses, trade studies, and short-circuit/coordination/arc-flash calculations using tools such as ETAP, SKM PTW32, MATLAB, or ANSYS to inform design decisions and risk reductions in the TMRR phase.

  • Evaluate vendor documentation, data sheets, and technical proposals for technical adequacy, compliance, and risk, and provide clear recommendations to management and customers.

  • Ensure proper application and interpretation of electrical codes, standards, hazard-area classifications, and weapon-system safety requirements throughout the design lifecycle.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks; develop and present design-change proposals; and manage electrical design baselines in coordination with program configuration-management processes.

  • Integrate electrical designs with propulsion, guidance, control, and weapon-system subsystems to support system-level integration, verification, and test planning.

  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to engineering team members and cross-functional partners, promoting best practices, continuous-process improvement, and knowledge sharing across the Tactical SMT.

  • Serve as primary technical liaison with external customers, suppliers, and internal program stakeholders, representing the organization in technical reviews, audits, and working groups.

  • Lead adoption and use of digital engineering and Agile/model-based practices (e.g., Siemens NX electrical CAD, Teamcenter/CPLM and related tools) to improve design efficiency, traceability, and lifecycle data management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of relevant experience, OR a Masters degree and 3 years of relevant experience, OR a PhD and 1 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience reviewing engineering specifications, schematics, and/or drawings and translating customer-driven requirements into compliant electrical specifications, including use of simulation/analysis tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience performing short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies using ETAP, SKM PTW32, or similar electrical analysis tools.

  • Proficiency in electrical CAD platforms such as NX, Revit, or comparable systems, including cable/harness and panel layout design.

  • Hands-on experience with simulation/analysis tools (ANSYS, MATLAB) and model-based engineering environments (Teamcenter/CPLM) for requirements and configuration management.

  • Demonstrated experience with continuous process improvement and Agile methodologies, including working with data-transmission formats (e.g., Serial, TCP/IP, Fiber) and integrating supplier-delivered designs into system-level architectures.
