Job Title: Floor Support Technician (Weld Repair)
Salary Grade: 3
Hours: 5:30am - 4:30pm (can vary)
Schedule: Monday through Thursday (can vary)
Dept: HVACR AMER.US.Lebanon Assembly
Summary:
Assists team members with schedule/tooling changes, assists maintenance, watches line for bottlenecks, assists in training, works with quality auditors, other duties as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assisting team members with schedule/tooling changes, anticipating problems.
- Assisting maintenance when a machine in the assigned area is down.
- Watching the line for bottlenecks or possible machine problems, correcting as needed.
- Assisting in the training of new or newly assigned team members.
- Working with maintenance, engineering, and managers on continuous process improvements.
- Evaluating daily rejects and scrap, looking for ways to reduce them.
- Helping run the line through breaks and lunch periods.
- Working with quality auditors during line audits, fixing identified problems as soon as possible.
- Helping with whatever is necessary to keep the line running, with safety as a primary concern.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to use hand and other tools to keep machine operating.
- Ability to read work instructions and other equipment guides and utilize to execute duties.
- Excellent mechanical skills.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year experience as an Assembler, or equivalent manufacturing experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Associates degree (A.A.) in a technical program, such as Mechanics or Mechatronics.
- Forklift driver’s certification.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as sums, dividends, percentages, ranges, averages, etc. Ability to apply concepts of technical math.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods while performing functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach overhead with hands and arms; grasp; stoop; kneel; and/or crouch. Must meet job standards for visual ability, speaking, and hearing in a manufacturing environment. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Environmental conditions include flashing lights on machines and Powered Industrial Vehicles, random noises such as horns and alarms.
