Overall purpose of role:

The Senior Analyst, Market Data Governance supports and provides cover for the Manager, Market Data Audits & Compliance in overseeing the LME’s market data reporting, revenue assurance and compliance activities. The role owns a defined portfolio of reporting controls and reconciliations, delivers risk-based compliance reviews within the agreed programme, and escalates material revenue, licensing and reporting issues.

Working with licensees and internal stakeholders, the role ensures that reported market data usage is complete, accurate and consistent with applicable licence terms and policies. It resolves reporting exceptions, validates fees, identifies compliance and revenue risks, and recommends proportionate corrective action. The role also supports the Manager with customer audits and compliance reviews, contributes to improvements in controls, processes and governance tools, and provides clear management information across Market Data, Finance, Legal and HKEX.

The LME’s Market Data department is responsible for building and implementing the Exchange’s data commercialisation strategy, liaising with key stakeholders both internally (within LME, LME Clear and the HKEX) and externally (vendors, members, clients and service providers). The department is responsible for growing revenues through effective multi-channel market engagement, proactive data product development, and responsive client service.

Responsibilities:

  • Own a defined portfolio of market data reporting controls, reconciliations and customer submissions, ensuring that records are complete, accurate and processed within agreed timelines.
  • Act as the subject-matter expert for reporting queries, working with licensees to resolve non-submissions, discrepancies and interpretation issues.
  • Assess reported usage and customer arrangements against applicable licence terms and policies, document exceptions, agree corrective actions and escalate material or recurring breaches.
  • Analyse usage, contractual and billing data to identify anomalies, fee discrepancies and potential revenue leakage, applying an understanding of customer business models.
  • Partner with Finance on fee validation, billing reconciliations, revenue assurance, variance analysis and payment-related enquiries.
  • Support the Manager, Market Data Audits & Compliance in delivering the audit programme and undertake remote and on-site compliance reviews within an agreed scope and timetable.
  • Prepare evidence-based findings and recommendations, track agreed remediation and escalate material revenue, licensing or control issues on a risk-based basis.
  • Produce clear management information on reporting quality, compliance risks, audit activity, remediation and revenue assurance.
  • Maintain and improve reporting processes, controls, systems and governance tools to enhance efficiency, transparency and data quality.
  • Support and provide cover for the Manager, Market Data Audits & Compliance on day-to-day operational matters, including prioritisation of reporting and review activity and escalation of urgent issues.
  • Contribute to wider Market Data operational priorities, cross-functional initiatives and projects as required.
