We are looking for a team player who is passionate about programming and finding ways to improve solutions for our diverse customer base. You will interact with clients and other team members to gather requirements for the analysis of business problems to determine feasible integration solutions. You will develop specifications, construct, enhance, and maintain functions, and install and support vendor packages. You will also develop programs, prepare and maintain application systems, and create or maintain documentation.
The Senior Integration Engineer serves as a full-cycle engineer with modern integration expertise, leverages strong cloud experience, and balances core development tasks with roles as a technical leader and domain technical expert. This position mentors junior Integrations developers and will be responsible for designing technical solutions.
The Senior Integration Engineer is instrumental in defining cloud-centric integration standards to safely transition legacy workloads into high-performance, cloud-native frameworks, batch architectures, and cloud hosted COTS solutions. Beyond custom development, the Senior Integrations Engineer supports the installation, cloud deployment, and ongoing maintenance of critical COTS solutions, specifically leading the migration of point-to-point platforms into secure, highly available AWS environments.
Operational support services vary in scope from minor bug fixes to major enhancements and refactoring. They also include monthly COTS application patches and updates. The Senior Integrations Engineer collaborates with other Integrations Developers and other OIT technical teams. The Senior Integrations Engineer performs all primary job duties as a domain technology expert and operates independently within the scope of their position.
In the absence of a Principal Integrations Developer, the Senior Integration Engineer may assist leadership and/or higher-level individual contributors to formulate strategy, policy, and procedures, The Senior Developer assists the team to understand and implement strategy, policy, and procedures developed by leadership.
A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and state seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. While all offers are compliant with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, there is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
This is a skills-based job announcement. The required minimum qualifications and/or education (if substituting for the proven experience, knowledge, and skills), are as follows:
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience with Mulesoft.
Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD.
Familiarity with performing data research to determine proper data relationships and source validation.
Experience with Windows Server and Linux Server Administration, including the ability to deploy, configure, and maintain application servers.
Comfort with command-line operations, file permissions, systemd service management, package management, Bash and Python scripting.
Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications.
Training or Certification related to the work assigned to the position will be assigned credit towards substitution for experience and/or education, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications.
If the minimum qualifications include a degree requirement, additional appropriate paid or unpaid experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Subject Matter Domain Expertise on the platforms (applications) used for the execution of the State Strategy for Data Sharing and Integrations premised on API led connectivity:
MuleSoft Anypoint Platform – an enterprise level integrations platform that is used for management of all aspects of API life cycle, from design, development, testing, deployment, exception handling, operational monitoring and support.
Ipswitch MOVEit Transfer and MOVEit Automation - MOVEit consolidates all file transfer activity to one system to ensure better management control over core business processes. MOVEit Transfer provides the security, centralized access controls, file encryption and activity tracking needed to ensure operational reliability and compliance with SLA, internal governance and regulatory requirements like PCI, HIPAA, etc.
Automic Workload Automation – an enterprise level process orchestrator for controlling tasks and handling events among disparate servers, operating systems, and programming languages; used to manage event (logic) and time driven dependencies.
Tableau – an enterprise level platform used to support data analysis and data visualization needs of the business and technology teams that OIT supports.
Current MuleSoft certification
Experience with relational database technologies such as MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or others desired
Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines a plus
Experience using Azure DevOps a plus
Familiarity with source code management tools such as TFS or Git a plus
Familiarity with Cloud technologies such as AWS a plus
Experience working in an Agile/SAFe environment a plus
Experience working with system orchestration and automation a plus
Conditions of Employment:
OIT employees must comply with any screening procedures in place at state agency locations where they might perform work.
A pre-employment background check will be conducted as part of the selection process. Post-employment background checks will be required for specific agencies as business needs dictate, which may include a polygraph exam, fingerprint-based criminal history search, reference checks, and a drug test.
This position may require travel within the specified geographic area, and to locations across the state as needed.
If this posting indicates “remote from anywhere in CO” in the title, periodic reporting to the primary state work location designated for the position is required. All remote work must be performed in Colorado.
While candidates from out of state will be considered for this role, the candidate selected for the position must relocate and reside in Colorado on the first day of their new position. A reasonable timeframe for relocation will be established on an individual basis, while considering business needs, and determining a start date.
