About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Cash Management Operations Process Improvement Analyst to join our EMEA Cash Management Operations team.

In this role, you will use data, analytics, and business insights to support the effective management of cash positions, funding requirements, and intraday liquidity across EMEA entities. You will analyse cash flows, payment activity, liquidity trends, and operational performance metrics to identify emerging risks, investigate exceptions, and uncover opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy and operational efficiency.

Working closely with partners across Cash Management Operations, Treasury, Technology, Risk, and Change Management, you will transform complex data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and operational excellence. You will play a key role in monitoring intraday liquidity activity, identifying trends and anomalies, enhancing reporting capabilities, and providing recommendations that strengthen operational resilience and improve business outcomes.

The successful candidate will combine strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships across multiple functions. You will be comfortable working with large datasets, challenging existing processes through data-driven insights, and influencing change that delivers measurable business value.

In this role, you will:

Process Improvement & Strategic Analysis

  • Conduct detailed reviews of existing cash management and liquidity management processes to identify operational inefficiencies, control enhancements and automation opportunities.

  • Analyse current operating models and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, scalability and risk mitigation.

  • Develop business cases and supporting analysis for process enhancement initiatives.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies, tools and data sources that could improve operational performance and forecasting capabilities.

  • Establish and maintain a pipeline of improvement opportunities aligned to departmental objectives.

Intraday Liquidity & Forecasting Enhancement

  • Analyse current projection methodologies and identify opportunities to improve intraday cash forecasting accuracy.

  • Review funding trends, payment behaviours and settlement patterns to uncover predictive indicators that could enhance liquidity forecasts.

  • Partner with Treasury, Operations and Technology teams to identify additional datasets, reporting capabilities and forecasting tools.

  • Develop recommendations that improve visibility of funding requirements and intraday liquidity positions.

  • Support the design and implementation of enhanced liquidity monitoring and forecasting frameworks.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a key liaison between Cash Management Operations, Treasury, Technology, Operations Change, Risk and other business partners.

  • Build strong working relationships across operational and strategic functions to support successful delivery of change initiatives.

  • Present recommendations, findings and progress updates to senior management and governance forums.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure proposed solutions align with business needs and regulatory expectations.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Utilise data analysis techniques to identify trends, patterns and operational insights.

  • Develop management reporting and dashboards that support decision making and prioritisation of improvement opportunities.

  • Support creation of executive-level presentations and recommendations supported by quantitative analysis.

Risk & Control

  • Ensure all proposed enhancements align with the firm's risk and control framework.

  • Assess impacts of process changes on operational risk, controls and governance requirements.

  • Support audit, compliance and regulatory reviews where process improvement initiatives are in scope.

  • Proactively identify and escalate risks associated with change programmes and process redesign.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience within Cash Management, Treasury Operations, Funding Operations, Liquidity Management or Capital Markets Operations.

  • Demonstrated experience leading process improvement, transformation or change initiatives.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

  • Experience of developing business requirements, process maps, operating models and project documentation.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and strong PowerPoint presentation skills.

  • Experience with data visualisation and reporting tools such as Power BI or similar platforms is advantageous.

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across multiple levels of the organisation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences.

  • Ability to challenge existing processes constructively and recommend innovative solutions.

  • Understanding of cash management, liquidity forecasting, payments, nostro management and financial markets operations.

  • Proven ability to investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, and deliver practical solutions.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of intraday liquidity management, cash forecasting, payments, nostro accounts, or treasury operations.

  • Experience working with SQL, Power Query, Python, Alteryx, or other analytical tools.

  • Understanding of operational risk, governance, and regulatory requirements within a banking environment.

  • Experience developing dashboards, reporting, and performance metrics.
