Summary:

The Facilities and Special Projects Manager is responsible for overseeing agency buildings, grounds, utilities, and safety/security systems. This role supervises facilities staff and coordinates with external contractors to manage maintenance, repair, custodial, and renovation activities. The manager also supports long-term planning and leads facility-related special projects such as upgrades and renovations.

Description:

Key responsibilities include:

· Supervising staff involved in building maintenance, repair, and custodial services.

· Overseeing preventative maintenance and compliance with safety and ADA standards.

· Coordinating with contractors for building and grounds projects.

· Developing and monitoring the facilities budget and requesting capital expenditures.

· Leading special projects related to facility improvements, repairs, or construction.

· Participating in agency risk management efforts and supporting OSHA compliance.

· Managing agency fleet vehicle coordination and upkeep.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

· Experience: Five (5) years of experience in general building maintenance, facilities operations, construction, or project management. Experience should include the ability to identify and address issues related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or other building systems.

· Substitution: Formal training in facilities management, construction technology, engineering, or a related field may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.

· Skills & Knowledge:

o Familiarity with building systems and equipment.

o Ability to plan and manage projects involving multiple vendors or contractors.

o Strong organizational and communication skills.

o Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and ADA physical standards.

o Ability to supervise and coordinate a diverse team of internal staff and outside service providers.
