Job Description

As a Cost Engineer Electronics specialist, you are responsible for creating price calculations and technical preparation of quotations for electronic components such as  

Wire Harness, battery packs, battery management systems, PCB’s, high voltage systems, electric motors etc.  

You lead project cost estimations in the early innovation stage, providing crucial projections for informed decision-making. You drive sourcing activities for design-to-cost projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.  Furthermore, you identify and lead Value Added/Value Engineering initiatives to optimize project costs. You contribute actively to negotiations with suppliers. You take the lead in cost audits to ensure accuracy and transparency.  

You check the technical feasibility and determines the optimal one editing methodology. You report directly to the lead Cost Engineering. 

Tasks & Responsibilities: 

In this role you will develop concrete product improvements within our value engineering approach and target costing projects, and you’ll contribute to creating innovative product ideas. 

• You are responsible for cost price calculation as a target for operations and purchasing for electronic components. 

• You initiate and support cost saving opportunities on electronics commodity. 

• You assess the customer specifications for completeness and feasibility; 

• You communicate with internal operations, purchasing, suppliers and account teams. 

• You determine the optimal assembly and processing strategy and coordinate it with the operation. 

• You are responsible for the technical substantiation of a cost price calculation and associated reports for electronics commodity
