Business Environment and Job Summary:
The New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI) organization under Inkjet Supplies Development and Operations (ISDO) is responsible for developing innovative technologies and delivering winning products to the marketplace. NPDI team focuses on validating design robustness, reliability, and customer experience to successfully deliver new technologies and products.
The team supports a diverse portfolio across the Home, Office, Large Format Design and Production printing segments. This broad product portfolio provides engineers with opportunities to work across multiple technologies, gain exposure to different market segments, and develop their careers through a variety of technical and leadership experiences.
The Engineering Program Manager leads cross-functional ink qualification / new product introduction / transformation programs that support product continuity, regulatory compliance, supplier strategy, cost optimization, and manufacturing readiness. This role is responsible for leading multiple project teams, and overseeing the complete process of product design and development. The role ensures designs and project activities are compliant with technology and development guidelines and standards. The role applies advanced subject matter knowledge to provide perspective to cross-organization projects, drive innovation and integrate new technologies into projects. The role acts as the central communication hub between technical teams, business stakeholders, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, operations, and executive leadership to ensure successful qualification and implementation of technology / product development in the inkjet and supplies ecosystem. Beyond project management and communication expertise, individuals will also have opportunities to serve as technical leads to manage projects of varying complexity.
In this role, you will:
Leads multiple project teams of internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of design and development for complex products, solutions, and platforms.
Coordinate activities across Ink Chemistry, Writing Systems, Reliability Engineering, Manufacturing, Regulatory and product stewardship, Packaging, Supply Chain, and Hardware printer partners organizations
Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality.
Identify trends and opportunities for optimizing product product/solution output, quality enhancements and cost of delivery.
Provides domain-specific expertise and overall platform leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
Develops cost estimates, business cases, appropriation requests and plans for engineering projects.
Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects/product development activities.
Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members to set an example of design and development, innovation, and excellence.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Program Management: Lead programs which include establishing the program scope, schedule, milestones, budget, and resource requirements. Develop and maintain the program Plan of Record (POR). Drive program execution and ensure alignment with business objectives. Manage qualification dashboards, status reporting, and executive communications. Capture lessons learned to promote continuous improvement
Stakeholder Management: Align stakeholders on scope, risks, schedules, and implementation plans. Create executive updates, dashboards, and review presentations. Present program status to leadership and decision boards. Drive timely communication across all stakeholders. Escalate critical issues and decision points when required.
Qualification Management: Facilitate technical and qualification reviews, decision meetings, and escalation forums. Ensure qualification plans are established and executed. Monitor qualification readiness, test progress, and gate approvals. Track qualification risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies. Drive timely completion of qualification milestones and change requests. Support qualification documentation and audit readiness.
Risk and Compliance Management: Assess business, technical, regulatory, and supply chain risks. Lead risk mitigation planning and execution to support regulatory compliance and market access requirements. Manage trade-offs between performance, cost, supply continuity, and schedule with the program.
Communication and Reporting: Ensure proper implementation of Technology development process (TDP), Product development process (PDP), and Management of Change (MoC) processes.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering/ Chemistry/Materials Science/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
7-10 years of work experience, preferably in electrical/mechanical design and tools/chemical/materials science, program/project management, product/technology development, manufacturing, or quality engineering.
Experience with product qualification, NPI, manufacturing change management, or supplies product/technology development.
Experience leading cross-functional global teams and ability to work across multiple time zones / both within and outside one's own work group
