POSITION SUMMARY                                                                  

The Utility Person is responsible to assist in carrying out the functions of the physical plant areas that relate to campus events, office moves, dorm room set ups, and other related needs of the College.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Job duties specific to this position:

• Responsible for loading and unloading of trucks and moving furniture. 

• Move and set-up staging, tables and chairs for events. 

• Pick up of trash and litter around campus grounds. 

• Assist in snow removal from walkways and building entrances. 

• Assist other physical plant employees on projects when needed.

• Perform other duties outside of job classification for Facilities department as assigned.

• Performs a variety of related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS  

• High School Diploma required

• Experience with snow removal preferred

• Valid NYS driver’s license

• Knowledge of the safety standards and precautions pertaining to moving heavy materials related to the position, required.

• Able to read and follow written and oral instructions, required.

• Ability to continuously perform heavy manual labor, including bending, stooping, reaching and lifting objects up to 75 lbs, required.

• Knowledge of computer programs.

• May have to work overtime hours on an intermittent basis when operational needs arise.

Pay Range:  $16.68 - $17.77 per hour
