Description
Our client is seeking a Junior Commercial Analyst to support the commercialisation of business processes and services through financial evaluation, pricing analysis, bid management and contract lifecycle support. This opportunity is ideal for an analytical professional who combines strong financial modelling capabilities with commercial awareness and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Providing financial modelling and analysis to assess the commercial viability of business opportunities, customer proposals and bids.
- Performing pricing analysis, monthly customer price calculations and profitability assessments.
- Analysing pricing structures, including rise-and-fall formulae and their impact on overall profitability.
- Coordinating key tenders and bids from receipt through to contract signature, ensuring commercial approvals and governance requirements are met.
- Maintaining bid repositories, registers and supporting commercial documentation.
- Monitoring customer contracts, renewals, commercial exposures and performance against original business cases.
- Conducting scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to identify opportunities to improve profitability and resource utilisation.
- Supporting the implementation and optimisation of commercial processes and reporting through ERP systems.
- Preparing commercial reports, presentations and ad hoc analyses to support business decision-making.
- Acting as a commercial and financial thought partner to stakeholders across the business.
Requirements:
- A Finance or Business Honours Degree, or equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in financial and commercial analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in financial modelling, with exposure to contract and bid management.
- Strong knowledge of project evaluation, financial forecasting, ROI, cash flow analysis and cost accounting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with strong Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills.
- The ability to analyse and interpret high volumes of financial and commercial data.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify viable business opportunities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder relationship management capabilities.
- A collaborative, analytical and solutions-focused approach.
