Job Summary
Responsible for credentialing, privileging, and re-credentialing of practitioners for Owensboro Health Regional Hospital (OHRH) and Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital (OHMCH). Provides an up-to-date collection of textbooks, periodicals, and audiovisuals and makes those resources available to the medical staff, hospital staff and community. Manages maintenance of compliance for accreditation through the Kentucky Medical Association for the ability to offer Continuing Medical Education (CME) offerings and Category I credit for participants.
Job Responsibilities
Conducts, participates, and maintains credentialing, re-credentialing, and/or privileging.
Compiles, evaluates, and presents the practitioner-specific data collected for review by one or more decision-making bodies (department chief, Credentials Committee, Medical Executive Committee, and Board of Directors).
Conducts, participates, and maintains primary source verification and data repositories.
Recognizes, investigates, and validates discrepancies and adverse information obtained from the application, primary source verifications, and other sources.
Evaluates credentialing/privileging requests including evidence of education, training, and experience to determine eligibility for requested privileges and membership.
Complies with accreditation and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures; participates in an ongoing assessment of governing documents (bylaws, rules, and regulations) to ensure continuous compliance.
Coordinates on-boarding processes (orientation and training activities) to assist practitioners/providers and to meet education requirements.
Serves as a facilitator for medical staff department chiefs and committee chairs to ensure that duties assigned are fulfilled as described in Medical Staff By-Laws.
Attends department and committee meetings; takes minutes, participates in meetings, and composes follow-up correspondence on behalf of medical staff leaders.
Assists in the preparation and posting of all specialty call rosters.
Ensures the daily maintenance of the house-wide electronic staff call roster.
Assists with the pay-for-call program.
Completes literature searches using manual and computer assisted searches.
Prepares book orders, invoices, processes new books, etc. Acquires, classifies, catalogs, stores, and disseminates information from these references.
Responsible for the Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities for Owensboro Health.
Manages the Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities of the organization.
Manages maintenance of compliance for accreditation through the Kentucky Medical Association for the ability to offer Continuing Medical Education (CME) offerings and Category I credit for participants.
Collaborates with senior staff on complex issues arising in data analysis.
