Role Overview
Salesforce is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager to lead programs and projects within the IT Delivery Services organization. This is role would be supporting programs within the IT Experience Engineering sub-pillar. The initiatives in this area involve the following:
- Endpoint engineering and device management
- Enterprise productivity and collaboration platforms (Google Workspace/GSuite and related tools)
- IT Service Management (ITSM) and ServiceNow ecosystem improvements
- AI-powered workforce productivity solutions and enterprise automation
- Digital workplace technologies
- IT operations
As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading all aspects of and coordinating multiple large scale, complex and cross-org programs and projects. TPMs are responsible for leading programs and projects from beginning to end, ensuring cross-team coordination and collaboration, detailed execution and delivery of work, and effective communication. They work closely with executives, product management, engineering, vendors, and many more to drive critical programs and projects activities. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent executive communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This is an individual contributor role.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage programs/projects through the entire program/project lifecycle. Ensure that business leads and technical teams are on track with their work as they are responsible and accountable for execution.
- Work closely with product management, engineering, and cross-functional teams, to support the development of the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, and timing for new initiatives.
- Engage with senior leaders and stakeholders to track and gain stakeholder alignment and sign-off/approvals on the programs status and deliverable dates.
- Identify and manage program risks, issues, and dependencies, and develop mitigation and contingency plans as needed. Collaborate with other TPMs to manage across the program.
- Drive program meetings to help make key decisions, remove obstacles, and address key program issues. Be the key driver to ensure business goals are met and drive the strategic vision forward in partnership with the business area (domain) leader.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation including maintaining and posting status reports and other critical program documents.
- Drive continuous improvement and proactively consolidate/iterate on approach.
- Coordinate leadership readout on program status (issues, risks, metrics, key decisions, etc.)
- Maintain and implement program governance standards and processes to optimize project delivery predictability, transparency, and agility. Drive continuous improvements based on lessons learned and industry best practices.
- Ensure deliverables are aligned across contributing teams for projects and programs
- Provide program specific knowledge transfer as new members are added to the program
- Drive cross functional program priorities
- Coordinate handoffs of program deliverables
- Drive program retrospectives upon closure and after completion of critical milestones
- Partner with Product Management for alignment of program requirements and business need
- Support PI Planning (for SAFe driven engagements), and other work planning efforts to synthesize outputs into appropriate program materials
- Coordinate project/program interdependencies between the various projects and programs in the portfolios
- Identify program budget needs and work with portfolio management to do quarterly forecasting and tracking budget and reporting.

- Flexibility in shifting direction quickly when priorities change; excellent multi-tasking skills.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, process-driven mindset, and resourcefulness
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including sound judgment about, when,
- Analytical thinker who is willing to make decisions cross-functionally in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Self-starter; willing to dig in and get the job done with minimal guidance
- Strong knowledge of leveraging AI tools to create delivery management efficiencies.
- 7+ years of Technical Program Management experience in a highly matrixed in environment (i.e. Senior Technical Program Manager, Senior Technical Project Manager)
- Minimum of 3+ years executing technical programs/projects in a hybrid delivery model (Waterfall & Agile)
- Must have exposure to managing programs in an agile model (ie Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Agile certifications (ie. Scrum Master, SAFe, etc.)
- Must have previous experience managing programs in the IT Experience Engineering space

The typical base salary range for this position is $150,100 - $227,000 annually. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
