What is the opportunity?

The Settlement Analyst is responsible for managing critical functions within collateral and treasury operations, with a focus on interest processing, collateral movement tracking, and account administration. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency across multiple processes while maintaining adherence to Standing Orders, Global Payments Policy, and regulatory requirements including CASS rules. The officer serves as a key operational support function, working to minimize risk and support team continuity.

What will you do?

  • The Analyst will ensure that all month end interest items are processed and confirmed as per counterparty guidelines

  • Ensure daily collateral movements are captured on time and accurately

  • Ensure all processes are followed to mitigate risk of error

  • Set up new accounts and SSI as per SO and Global Payments Policy

  • Proactively identifies opportunities to further streamline processes and improve productivity.

  • Ensure month-end interest reconciliations are completed and items escalated as required

  • Escalate any issues or non-adherence to policy and procedures

  • Provide backup to Team Lead and other team members as required

  • Ensure interest rates are accurate and up to date in systems as required

  • Provide assistance on monthly GL Attestation

  • Provide input and testing assistance on projects as required

  • Assist in updating procedures and policies as required

  • Ensure all job functions are performed as per procedures and Standing Orders

  • Perform functions for IS Trust ensuring compliance with CASS rules for client money

What do you need to succeed?

  • 1-2 years of experience in Collateral settlements in Capital Markets, with focus on supporting operational risk management activities.

  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, planning and organizing skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication capability and presentation

  • Demonstrated ability to lead structured and outcomes-oriented meetings

  • High degree of flexibility and resourcefulness

  • Understanding of basic accounting entries and logic

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Builds strong working relationships with colleagues to leverage knowledge and expertise

Nice to Have:

  • Understanding of financial markets, banking, financial markets or accounting.

  • Canadian Securities Courses and/or CFA an asset.  

  • Knowledge of RIMMS, Colline, iMatch, DTCC ALERT and the various processes involved in confirmations and settlements.
