Position Summary:
The Compliance Program Coordinator will play a crucial role in coordinating and managing compliance efforts across the firm for the Singapore office, with a focus on prevention of money laundering (ML), financing of terrorism (FT) and proliferation financing (PF) initiatives. This position requires strong organizational skills, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams and departments to ensure compliance with Singapore and international regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinates and reviews client due diligence processes in accordance with the requirements of the applicable laws and regulations and the firm's internal prevention of ML, FT and PF policies and procedures
Assesses and escalates potential ML, TF or PF risks identified
Under supervision of the Singapore office’s Compliance Officer, maintains and updates the firm's risk assessments, including client risk ratings and matter-level risk reviews
Monitors regulatory developments relating to the prevention of ML, TF, and PF, including updates from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), and other relevant bodies, and assesses their impact on firm policies and procedures
Reviews, drafts, and updates the office’s internal policies, procedures, and controls to reflect current regulatory requirements and best practices
Develops and delivers training programs for attorneys and staff, ensuring awareness of legal obligations, internal policies, and emerging risks
Serves as a subject matter resource for attorneys and business services teams on ML, FT and PF-related queries and compliance obligations
Serves as the primary point of contact for compliance matters in the Singapore office, liaising with the firm's regional and global compliance teams
Prepares compliance reports, risk summaries, and management updates for senior management and relevant committees
Coordinates with external counsel, auditors, and regulators as required
Supports compliance projects, initiatives and activities for the Singapore office and assists with related projects as needed and also as directed by firm compliance leadership
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Singapore's PDPA requirements and ensures that compliance-related data handling practices align with applicable data protection obligations
Flexibility to work overtime as needed

Education & Prior Experience
Minimum of three years of experience in a compliance-related role, with a preference for candidates who have experience in the implementation and maintenance of prevention of ML, FT and PF programs and initiatives
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Law, or a related field
Solid understanding of prevention of ML, FT and PF laws, regulations, and compliance best practices
Knowledge of Singapore's regulatory framework
Proficiency with IT systems and compliance tools
Familiarity with compliance management software and document management platforms
Experience with data analysis and report generation
Prior experience in a law firm, financial institution, or professional services environment is an advantage
Technology
Proficiency with Windows-based software and the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
Ability to learn and work with compliance management and regulatory tracking systems
Proficiency with the use of AI-assisted productivity tools
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to move from workstation or desk throughout the work area to work independently or with a team to meet with colleagues or supervisor and retrieve work assignments.
This position may also be sedentary and require the employee to sit for extended periods of time.
Requires manual dexterity to use a phone, enter data into a computer, handle objects, and use office equipment.
