In this role, you will lead a team dedicated to ensuring public services are delivered promptly, efficiently, and safely. You will lead work crews in a construction and maintenance environment, including prioritizing and assigning tasks, assuring rules and regulations are observed on the job site, and performing other construction and maintenance activities as required.

We Require
Two years of experience in skilled construction or maintenance
High school diploma or GED
Must possess a valid Arizona Commercial Class A Driver’s License (CDL)
State and federal regulations require Maricopa County to conduct a pre-employment safety history investigation for all positions that require an applicant to possess a commercial driver’s license (CDL). Maricopa County is also required to conduct a pre-employment safety history investigation for positions that directly impact commercial motor vehicle safety, but may not specifically require a valid CDL

Job Contributions
Lead work crews performing construction and maintenance activities
Prioritize and assign tasks; ensure that all safety rules and regulations are observed on the job site
Monitor and enforce adherence to division policies, procedures, and standards
Supervise the repair of roadway surfaces, culverts, shoulders, and guardrails
Supervise traffic control activities as needed; report safety hazards; perform tasks in the interest of public safety and property protection during emergencies
Operate a variety of trucks, equipment, and hand tools in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures
Complete work orders to meet Division standards; prepare daily activity, material, and equipment usage reports
Transport work crews to and from work sites
Instruct crew in the proper use and maintenance of equipment
Perform a variety of miscellaneous support tasks and other duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Exerting 50 - 100 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 - 20 pounds constantly
Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures, wetness/humidity, respiratory hazards, and noise and vibration
Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software, and Hardware
Gannon, backhoe, skid steer, road broom, hand tools, dump trucks, water trucks, oil distributor, and Cartegraph.
Protective Equipment Required
Hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, safety vest, steel-toe boots, and hearing protection.
