Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has opportunities for an Associate Software Engineer or Software Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA.
Description
- Design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions
- Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software
- Determine computer user needs;
- Analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls
- Prepare operating instructions
- Design and develop compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems
- Ensure software standards are met
This role may be filled at either an Associate Software Engineer (Level 1) or Software Engineer (Level 2) level based on the qualifications outlined below.
Basic Qualifications:
Software Engineer (Level 1):
- Must have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering, OR a Master's Degree and 0 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. government Secret clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) as determined by business needs
Principal Software Engineer (Level 2):
- Must have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering, OR a Master's Degree and 0 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. government Secret clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) as determined by business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- An active U.S. government Secret clearance or higher (with background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills
- Proven ability to brief technical presentations to stakeholders
Primary Level Salary Range: $76,200.00 - $114,400.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
