Full Time: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Performs routine and moderately complex blood and specimen collection activities across assigned patient settings. Verifies patient identity, confirms collection requirements, handles specimen labeling and transport, and applies working knowledge to resolve routine collection issues while maintaining patient comfort and specimen integrity.

Technician, Laboratory Phlebotomy carries out defined clinical support processes under moderate supervision, applying working knowledge to tasks that occasionally require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. Decisions are procedure-driven and impact day-to-day patient interactions and team workflow. Technician, Laboratory Phlebotomy handles routine and moderately non-routine situations, communicating clearly with patients, members, and clinical staff.

How will you make an impact & Requirements

‎ 

The Phlebotomist is responsible for drawing and collecting blood from patients and preparing the samples for testing. Verifies the patient's records, enters data into the system, and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Processes specimens and demonstrates proper handling of samples. Instructs patients on Coumadin and performs limited waived testing. Maintains sample integrity by identification and labeling (2 identifiers). Maintains work area, supplies, and cleanliness.

 

Responsibilities

•        Performs painless venipuncture and capillary puncture for the Coumadin clinic.

•        Identifies patient following protocol.

•        Prepares samples for processing w/correct label and bar code and inspects vials.

•        Reconciles outstanding sample report at day’s end.

•        Observe safety procedures and sample prep.

•        Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.

•        Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

•        Phlebotomy certification or M.A. certification or certificate from a phlebotomy program.

•        1+ years of experience in Lab.

•        Understand labeling/ID protocol, and knowledge of common lab tests, sample types, and vacutainers.

•        Understand Biohazard, OSHA safety regulations for medical offices, and Universal precautions.

•        Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Compensation Range:

$17.10

to

$25.65

 

The anticipated base salary range represents the Company's good-faith estimate of the compensation it reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.
