About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Crime SME (Small & Medium Enterprise) Specialist to join our Financial Crime Unit, supporting the growth and development of our SME proposition.

Acting as the voice of Financial Crime, you'll work closely with teams across the business to ensure products, services and business initiatives are designed and delivered with effective Financial Crime controls at their core. You'll provide expert guidance on regulatory requirements, support client onboarding, and change initiatives, and help shape the NSSL’s SME proposition.

 

A key focus of the role will be supporting the evolution of the SME proposition, taking into account regulatory developments and customer requirements.  This is a highly collaborative role where you'll build strong relationships across the business, influence decision-making and help identify opportunities to support sustainable growth and revenue generation while maintaining a robust Financial Crime framework.

 

About You

You'll have experience within Financial Crime, AML, Fraud, Compliance or Risk and be confident providing expert advice across a range of business and change initiatives.

You understand how to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical solutions that support both customer and business outcomes. You'll be comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels, providing guidance, challenge and influence to ensure risks are managed effectively without creating unnecessary barriers to growth.

You'll bring strong analytical and communication skills, experience supporting change or implementation projects, and the ability to balance regulatory obligations with commercial objectives. Most importantly, you'll be a proactive and solutions-focused professional who enjoys helping the business navigate change, improve customer outcomes and support the continued success of the SME proposition.
