Our Story, Your Stage
SHS was established in 1914, Southwest Health System, Inc. has a rich history of serving rural communities and has a strong mission to provide the highest quality healthcare to our patients. We offer comprehensive "care close to home", helping people in small towns receive quality operations and services you'd only expect from a big city. Your Front-Door Impact
As a Patient Access Guest Relations professional, you’re the first, confident connection for patients, visitors, and the public—setting the tone for a smooth, safe arrival experience at our Cortez campus. You help people feel oriented, informed, and cared for from the moment they enter or call.
Key responsibilities include answering and routing incoming calls; greeting and directing patients/families to the right care area; supporting check-in flow by tracking patients needing registration and distributing them to Patient Access staff; paging announcements and emergency code calls; maintaining a clean lobby/entrance; checking in contractors/guests and issuing security badges; and monitoring infection prevention protocols (including temperature/symptom screening and PPE distribution) while enforcing visitor policy.
Required qualifications/skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Clear English communication (written and verbal); additional languages preferred
- Strong customer service, basic computer skills, and professionalism
- Commitment to confidentiality, safety, and regulatory compliance
Ready to be the welcoming spark that keeps care moving? Apply today.
A Shift in Motion
Your day starts at the lobby—where quick hellos, clear answers, and calm reassurance set everything in motion. You’ll move between face-to-face support and the phone line, keeping information flowing and helping the front entrance stay organized and ready. Throughout the shift, you’ll stay alert to infection-prevention needs, respond to changing traffic, and adapt as volumes rise and fall. You’ll connect with multiple departments, keep logs up to date, and pivot smoothly when coverage is needed in a different location or at a different time. By the end of the day, you’ll feel the win: people found where they needed to go, concerns were addressed in the moment, and the hospital’s first impression stayed sharp and welcoming.
