We're looking for a detail-oriented Business Planner to own the end-to-end quarterly sales quota process for our Customer Engagement Team (CET), spanning retail locations throughout North America from leading Consumer Electronics channels. This role blends hands-on data ownership with process improvement, leveraging AI and modern reporting tools to make planning faster and more scalable across the organization.
Responsibilities
Quota Setting & KPI Management
Own the quarterly sales quota process end-to-end at the model level for an expansive retail network
Support additional KPI tracking and reporting as needed
Serve as the primary point of contact for Sales team inquiries related to targets and quota methodology
Technology & Process Improvement
Identify and implement opportunities to streamline data collection, sharing, and consumption, with an emphasis on AI-driven tools and automation
Act as a go-to resource for colleagues on planning tools and processes
Serve as a subject matter expert for testing the implementation of new technology by Sony’s systems integration teams
Be a confident communicator capable of conducting training sessions for colleagues at all levels
Reporting & Cross-Team Support
Maintain, enhance, and build reporting source files
Conduct ad hoc analysis as requested by leadership or cross-functional partners
Serve as backup to the Planning team's Lead
Prepare for and participate in Weekly Management meetings
Minimum Requirements
3 years of experience in business planning, sales operations, data analysis, or related field
Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data modeling)
Demonstrated expert-level proficiency in Power BI and Power Query
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Versed in results driven dashboard reporting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain data/methodology to non-technical stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Available to work on-site Tuesday–Thursday 8am to 5pm at the Rancho Bernardo office
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Preferred Skills
Experience in sales quota setting
Familiarity with statistics and statistical analysis methods
Working knowledge of finance/financial planning concepts
Ability to build flows within automation tools such as Power Automate (desktop/web)
Working knowledge of API calls
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
Exposure to AI tools/platforms applied to data or reporting workflows
Prior experience presenting to or supporting management-level meetings
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $96,614 to $128,820. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for an annual corporate bonus plan, which is based on company performance and is not guaranteed, and a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare benefits (medical, dental, and vision), paid medical leave, a 401k plan with matching company contributions, vacation time, education assistance, student loan assistance program, eighty hours of paid sick leave time annually, and up to twelve weeks paid parental leave.
