They are seeking a Fitter/Fabricator to join their team!
Responsibilities:
- Lay out, position, secure parts, and fabricate material according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler
- Tack-weld or weld components and projects
- Prepare and finish workpiece using portable grinder or scraper
- Weld components in all positions
- Set up welding or other required equipment and follow Health and Safety protocols and procedures
- Inspect parts to ensure standards and specifications are met
- Perform precision layout tasks and precisely fit together their structural parts and components
- Read/work to engineered drawings and welding symbols
- Perform shop mathematical calculations when required
- Follow all plant safety guidelines, practices, and procedures
- Maintain and clean and safe work area
- Properly use all personal protective equipment
- Other duties assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years experience as a welder/fitter or similar role
- Intermediate experience and knowledge of blueprint reading
- Intermediate ability using welding tools
- Knowledge of machine operation, cutting, sawing, drilling, and grinding parts is preferred
- Experience with forklifts and overhead crane is considered an asset
- Ability to work within a team environment and communicate effectively with others
- Ability to read and follow blueprints with a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to repetitively lift 25-50 lbs
