Location: New London, WI
Pay: $24.00-$34.00/hour based on experience
Schedule: Second Shift | Monday-Friday | 2:45 p.m.-12:45 a.m.
Join Amcor as a Machinist I and grow your machining career with a global packaging leader. In this CNC and manual machinist role, you'll manufacture and repair precision parts that support critical manufacturing equipment. You'll work in a job shop environment using a variety of machine tools while helping ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.
What You'll Do
- Prioritize safety in all activities, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and support plant safety initiatives, including participation on the Emergency Response Team
- Safely operate and maintain machine shop equipment, including manual and CNC lathes, mills, boring bars, surface grinders, and roll manufacturing equipment
- Operate cutting equipment such as band saws, table saws, and radial arm saws
- Perform machine setups for a variety of machining jobs and assist with the design and fabrication of jigs and fixtures as needed
- Perform machining operations using grinders, drill presses, broaching equipment, and other machine shop tools
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings and use precision measuring instruments to verify parts meet quality and tolerance requirements
- Perform routine maintenance on shop equipment and tools to support reliable operations
- Follow OSHA regulations and all company safety, quality, and operational standards
- Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, rigging equipment, and other material handling equipment
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical degree in Machining Technology, Journeyman Machinist certification, or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience operating manual machining equipment and/or CNC machinery
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments
- Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and use basic rigging equipment, including slings and straps
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work throughout the shift
