As a Senior Technical Consultant within SAS' Financial Risk Solutions practice, you will combine financial risk expertise, consulting capability and technical understanding to help banks and financial institutions address complex risk management priorities. You will work with senior client stakeholders to translate regulatory and business requirements into practical, technology-enabled solutions that improve risk and finance processes, optimise capital management and deliver measurable outcomes.
This is a senior, client-facing role for a techno-functional risk professional who can operate as a trusted advisor while remaining closely connected to solution design, configuration and implementation.
As a Sr Technical Consultant, you will:
- Advise banks and financial institutions on credit, market, liquidity, interest-rate and operational risk, including regulatory capital, IFRS 9, enterprise stress testing and asset and liability management.
- Interpret regulatory and industry requirements, including Basel frameworks, IFRS 9, IRRBB, LCR and NSFR, and assess their implications for capital, operations and risk management.
- Lead discovery workshops with senior banking executives, risk leaders, finance stakeholders and technology teams to understand business priorities, challenges and solution requirements.
- Translate complex regulatory, business and functional requirements into solution designs, analytical approaches, configuration requirements and implementation plans.
- Apply modelling, scenario analysis and stress-testing techniques to assess risk exposures, support decision-making and identify appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Advise clients on integrating risk and finance processes and automating RWA, expected credit loss, regulatory capital, ALM and stress-testing workflows.
- Provide technical and functional leadership throughout the solution lifecycle, including architecture discussions, data preparation, configuration, validation, testing and implementation support.
- Lead or support solution demonstrations, proofs of concept, executive presentations and other activities that communicate the business value of SAS risk solutions.
- Collaborate with SAS sales, consulting, delivery, product and industry teams to shape client solutions, support business development and deliver successful engagements across Asia Pacific.
- Contribute to SAS thought leadership, reusable consulting assets, delivery practices and industry engagement while helping colleagues build deeper banking risk capabilities.
- Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.
- Embrace curiosity, passion, authenticity and accountability. These are our values and influence everything we do.
Required qualifications
- 10 years of relevant experience in financial risk management, risk advisory, enterprise risk technology or risk and finance transformation.
- Advanced knowledge of credit risk, IFRS 9 expected credit loss, Basel regulatory capital, end-to-end RWA calculations, credit risk mitigation and enterprise stress testing.
- Strong understanding of asset and liability management, including IRRBB, liquidity risk, balance-sheet optimisation, funds transfer pricing and associated regulatory frameworks.
