Overview
The Ops & Reporting Manager will manage both Nigeria & Ethiopia Control scope, Marketing sales curve, Distributors claims & payments follow ups, review monthly rebates, manage all the accruals across all the entities, prepare the monthly Flash files & balance sheet schedules, prepare Operating cash flow on monthly basis, prepare A&M monthly submission, prepare the annual credit limits per distributor, prepare the monthly amortization true ups.
The role will engage and interact with process stakeholders of Nigeria MU, Ethiopia MU and SA Reporting & Control Team with different levels – including L6 to LG1 executives as well as manage relationships and interactions with internal and external auditors.
Responsibilities
JD for Ethiopia and Nigeria will be merged into 1 and one L08 resource will manage both roles from Ethiopia
Current JD for Ethiopia• Ensure accurate & timely execution of costing run at month end.• Accurate monthly closing of sales and production.• Monthly capitalization and preparation of fixed assets schedule.• Ensure completeness and accuracy of JVs & ME closing schedules related to Reporting and Inventory team.• Review landed cost of imported material.• In consultation with the Internal Controls team, conduct risk assessment sessions with process and Control owners to identify and mitigate emerging risks & improve controls effectiveness of I2C, Agro and Fixed Assets processes. Timely closure of gaps identified by modifying process and test scripts.• Partner with plant managers and functional heads to analyze cost heads to find and realize cost savings opportunities. • Support business in achieving overall objectives ensuring compliance with policies and processes.• Ensure updating the standard cost of materials & FG in SYSPRO, as and when required.• Prepare monthly Balance Sheet review schedules including Inventory and Reserves. • Ensure timely submission of information to external auditors.• Identify automation and efficiency opportunities in relevant area.• Co-ordination with Projects & Admin Teams to identify assets eligible for capitalization and accurate and timely recording of new assets in SYSPRO• Co-ordination with Projects Team, Admin Teams and End users to identify Idle assets/held for sales, stop depreciation and book provisions where required• Recording of Disposal of Assets in SYSPRO post approvals• Update Fixed Asset Register and match with TB• Monthly review of the outstanding CWIP sub-ledgers and follow up with relevant departments on long outstanding balances• Coordination with assets custodians and Third party to carry out physical verification of Fixed Assets, once in 3 years
• Review aging of Capex related AP, GRIR, Advances and Accruals and follow up for clearing of long outstanding balances
Current JD for Nigeria
Reporting and Internal Control• Lead overall Financial Reporting process for Nigeria MU including PepsiCo Internal Reporting.• Act as the first point of contact for all technical accounting related matters of Nigeria Snacks• Prepare monthly P&L for both the companies• Lead Nigeria MU external audit contact, driving coordination, execution and timely completion of statutory audits and managing relationships and interactions with the auditors• Ensure adherence on GCS/SOX controls over financial reporting & Fixed Assets, wherever responsible• Own overall financial governance processes – Balance Sheet Review, allocation processes• Process Risk Assessment: Flowcharts, key controls for Reporting & Fixed Assets Cycles• YE Stock counts: Engagements & Coordination• Submit various monthly / quarterly / annual / ad-hoc reporting related deliverables.
Operating Finance• Process Risk Assessment: Flowcharts, key controls.• Prepare annual credit limits.• Approval of credit limits.• Submit Revenue Recognition template.• Approve Pre-Spend as per SOA.• Approve re-allocation between A&M budget lines as per SOA.• Reconcile A&M budget with Planning regularly.• Review & approve JV bookings.• Insurance review & processing• Oversight YE Accruals process.• Manage YE accruals settlement and FIFO bookings.• Prepare Critical & Non critical Reconciliation on a monthly basis.• Prepare Amortization True-ups.• Review Monthly Bookings (Rebates).• Prepare A&M W/NW Monthly Submission.• Upload Budget on Skelta.• Skelta - SAP Reconciliation.• Review Accruals' supporting documents.• Prepare Pre & Post Close Submissions.• Prepare A15 & A28 Annual Submission.• Prepare Monthly Bookings (Rebates).• Accruals booking approvals.• FIFO approvals.• Approve JV bookings.
Qualifications
- 6 or 8 years post qualification experience in Reporting/Control/Audit
- Masters in Finance/Qualified/part qualified Chartered Accountant with excellence in accounting academically
- Mastery of PepsiCo Financial Reporting Processes and requirements
- Strong communication skills in English a must
- Demonstrates high integrity in financial controller management and the flexibility needed to work effectively
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
