## About this Role
We are seeking a Trade Compliance Transformation Specialist to lead the design, delivery and embedding of Vodafone’s global trade compliance transformation agenda. This role is responsible for strengthening and harmonising the global trade compliance framework, ensuring import/export controls, sanctions requirements and customs obligations are consistently implemented across markets and functions.
The successful candidate will drive strategic change across processes, systems, data and governance, creating a consistent, risk-based and future-ready compliance operating model. Working closely with Group functions, local markets and external partners, they will help ensure trade compliance capabilities evolve alongside regulatory requirements and business needs, enabling both compliance excellence and commercial agility.
## What you’ll do
- Lead Vodafone’s global trade compliance transformation programme, ensuring alignment with Group strategy and compliance objectives.
- Design and implement a harmonised trade compliance operating model across Group functions and Local Markets.
- Drive technology and data enablement by embedding trade compliance controls into core systems, tools and business processes.
- Ensure alignment with UK, EU and international trade compliance regulations, sanctions requirements and export control obligations, supporting effective management of Group-level risk.
- Partner with stakeholders across Compliance, Supply Chain, Technology, Legal and Local Markets to encourage adoption of standardised compliance practices.
- Lead change management initiatives, including communications, training and capability development activities across multiple markets.
- Establish sustainable business-as-usual ownership models to support long-term compliance effectiveness.
- Monitor regulatory developments and identify opportunities for continuous improvement across trade compliance processes, controls and governance.
- Support the optimisation of trade compliance controls to enable sustainable business growth while maintaining a robust risk management framework.
- Contribute to programme evolution through effective project delivery, stakeholder engagement and data-driven decision-making.
## Who you are
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing trade compliance activities within a multi-jurisdictional environment.
- Good knowledge and practical experience of trade compliance, sanctions and export control systems and technologies.
- Good understanding of UK, EU and US export control requirements and related regulatory frameworks.
- Experience using data and performance metrics to identify trends and drive process improvements.
- Minimum 3 years of project or programme management experience.
- Proven track record of delivering programmes on time and within agreed budgets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience working across multiple geographies with strong cross-cultural awareness.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and build collaborative working relationships.
- Degree in Accounting, Law, Programme Management or another relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Internationally recognised qualification in Sanctions or Trade Compliance, such as the ICA Diploma, would be advantageous.
- Additional language skills would be beneficial.
