Join Clark Nuber’s IT team as a Desktop Support Technician and gain hands-on experience supporting a wide range of hardware, software, and business applications that keep our firm running every day. You’ll work directly with employees across all levels of the organization, making a visible impact while building a broad technical skill set.
As a Desktop Support Technician, you’ll serve as a frontline resource for technology support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and user-access issues while helping manage the team’s support ticket queue. Working closely with two experienced Desktop Support Technicians, you’ll support everything from workstation setup and user onboarding to Microsoft applications, firm-specific software, printers, conference room technology, and remote employees. This role offers exposure to a diverse technology environment and the opportunity to learn specialized applications used within the public accounting industry. Success in this position comes from delivering outstanding customer service, staying organized in a high-volume support environment, and being eager to learn new systems and technologies.
This is 100% in office role with working hours Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm PST.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include but are not limited to:
- Support end users on a variety of technical computer-related issues, including software and hardware failures. Identify, research, and resolve technical problems. Document, track and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution.
- Provide hardware support to staff by setting up and testing new workstations and laptops; create and store functional images to ensure consistency in equipment set up. Coordinate the repair of hardware or peripherals with outside vendors. Coordinate and oversee computer equipment change-out activities as required.
- Ensure all network users are properly setup and removed as required from Clark Nuber systems. Set up network, email, and telephone. Establish and maintain user directories.
- Set up and maintain Client Portals and Client Sites to ensure ready access to current information; issue and maintain login IDs. Ensure client information is accurate and well organized on the site.
- Provide new user orientation to acclimate new employees to the use of the computer system and network. Complete employee onboarding and exit checklists.
- Ensure all licenses are maintained and are properly tracked.
- Monitor and maintain copiers and printers including requesting vendor service.
- Manage checked out hardware; laptops, portable projectors, and hotspots.
- Maintain and set up computer equipment for training classes.
- Support and (sometimes) operate conference room technology.
- Back up other staff within the department as required.
- Responsible for quarterly maintenance of operations documentation that supports job functions performed.
- Maintain hardware list; including updating ownership, security keys, and asset tags.
- Evaluate and purchase all end user hardware for the firm (laptops, desktops, accessories).
Education: Associate degree in IT or Business preferred.
Experience: Windows & Microsoft experience required. Prior experience with a customer service focused role desired. Must be able to pass a background check, including a credit check, to remain eligible for this role.
Pay Rate Range: $29.08 per hour minimum to $43.62 per hour maximum pay range USD
