Alvotech is seeking a dedicated cell culture associate scientist to join our Upstream Process (USP) Research and Development (R&D) team. As an associate scientist, you will play an important support role in our USP team developing a small-scale bioreactor process for subsequent scale-up and transfer to a manufacturing environment for production of biosimilars.  

Scope and responsibility:  
 

• General supervision and upkeep of the USP Development laboratory to ensure it remains clean and well-organized.  

• Responsible for managing, maintaining and stocking the specific USP Development laboratory inventory such as raw material, consumable and equipment supplies etc. Communication with vendors for purchasing and with warehouse/procurement/supply chain regarding orders and tracking.  

• Responsible for tracking and performing equipment regular maintenance and upkeep of logbooks. Proactively participate in authoring and updating the equipment specific procedures and work instructions.  

• Support USP Development scientists in sample labelling, submission, internal/external sample transport and assist in sample result tracking.  

• Support USP Development scientists for study preparation and/or execution such as bioreactor assembly/disassembly, daily sampling, raw material dispensing and media/feed preparation etc.  

• Proactively propose general laboratory improvements and willing to take up additional activities, as applicable.  

Qualifications & Experience: 

• University degree; BSc or MSc (Preferred) within biotechnology, biochemistry, biochemical engineering or related field.  

• Work experience in the field of biotechnology or comparable for 1-3 years is an advantage.  

• Practical lab work experience and basic scientific knowledge within the field of biotechnology or comparable is an advantage.  

• Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate fluently.  

• Scientific mindset, solution oriented, great team player with good adaptability and positive attitude.
