Project Manager / Project Engineer, Transportation | Baltimore, MD | Hybrid
THE OPPORTUNITY
An established, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is expanding its transportation team in Baltimore and has immediate interest in an experienced Highway Design Project Manager. There is also an opportunity for a Project Engineer with somewhat less experience. You'd work with a sizable local transportation team on roadway and multimodal improvements throughout the Baltimore region and beyond, with the resources to lead projects and continue growing professionally.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Lead or support roadway and multimodal transportation design, including highway widening and reconstruction, interchanges, intersections, streetscapes and pedestrian/bicycle facilities.
For the PM opening, lead project teams; manage schedule, budget, quality and coordination; and oversee plans, specifications and estimates.
Collaborate with public-agency clients, technical specialists, consultants and project staff.
Contribute to design alternatives, contract documents and application of federal, state and local standards.
Mentor younger engineers as your level and responsibilities permit.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
PROJECT MANAGER: approximately 10+ years in civil/highway or transportation design, a PE license and demonstrated ability to lead projects and people.
PROJECT ENGINEER: approximately 5–7 years of relevant transportation/highway design experience, with the technical foundation to assume increasing project responsibilities. PE licensure or a near-term path to licensure is desirable for this track.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited engineering program.
Experience with OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, InRoads and/or comparable roadway design software.
Knowledge of transportation design standards; MDOT/SHA, MTA, MDTA or municipal project experience is particularly useful.
