Job Description Summary:

The Director, Global Project Management will partner with a Global Project Leader to help lead a cross-functional team that strategically and tactically plans development projects and executes on project scope, budget, schedule, and critical resources. In this role, the Director, Global Project Management, assesses and proactively manages project risks and trade-offs, supports timely decision making with key stakeholders, and oversees the day-to-day work of development project teams through a strong network of team members. The incumbent is responsible for reporting on PTC's drug development projects from project inception through development and life cycle management.

The Director, Global Project Management drives cross-functional excellence within PTC project teams by advancing project development, ensuring alignment across internal departments and external resources on pre-clinical, CMC, clinical, regulatory, and commercial project management tasks and issues. The incumbent will collect, analyze and integrate cross-functional deliverables to support business decisions, as well as track the performance of the project team including, but not limited to, goals, achievements, and other key performance indicators.

The Director, Global Project Management ensures adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate.

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Primary duties/responsibilities:

 

• Partners with Global Project Leaders to drive strategic discussions within cross-functional core teams
• Ensures the ongoing alignment of projects to corporate goals and to team objectives and goals by maintaining up-to-date project plans and timelines and by identifying and facilitating resolution of risks/challenges to the development project
• Ensures consistent and quality communication with key stakeholders to deliver the right information at the right time to the right audience
• Functions as an escalation point of contact for project teams for project-related issues 
• Supports execution of Project Management initiatives and acts as an organizational change agent
• Evaluates, implements, and enhances project management best practices across project teams, including thorough understanding of enterprise project management tools and principles.
• Functions as a key representative from Project Management to interface with senior and executive management
• Performs other tasks and assignments as needed and specified by management.  

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED

* Minimum level of education and years of relevant work experience.

 

• A masters degree in life sciences or related degree with 8+ years of project management experience in a pharmaceutical/biotech industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Special knowledge or skills needed and/or licenses or certificates required.

•  In-depth understanding of global pharmaceutical developmental processes, including hands-on experience leading teams across the lifecycle of drug development (from early/translational development through registration and commercialization) with a focus on small molecules, biologics, and/or gene therapies. 
• Demonstrated ability and experience in supporting a Project Management Office that harmonizes and integrates project management methodologies across project teams, including Planisware
• Strong leadership skills and experience as demonstrated by being organizationally astute to lead with influence and compelling vision.
• Experience with global pharmaceutical regulatory requirements, including – but not limited to - IND/CTA, NDA/BLA/MAA filings, etc. 
• Ability to influence without direct authority in a matrixed organization. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills. 
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed team environment consisting of internal and external team members Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

• PMP or MBA preferred. 

* Travel requirements

•  10 – 20% 

Expected Base Salary Range: $202,500 - $238,200. The base salary offered will be contingent on assessment of candidate education level, background, and experience relative to the requirements of the position they are being considered for, as well as review of internal equity.

 

In addition to base salary, PTC employees are also eligible for short- and long-term incentives. All eligible employees may also enroll in PTC’s medical, dental, vision, and retirement savings plans.
